“Hidden rooftop gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Firstly just wanted to say this review is for the Rooftop bar only - we didn't stay in the hotel!

I spent a bit of time researching the best rooftop bars in South Beach to see the sunset. Whilst Juvia seems to get the best reviews we decided to go for somewhere a little more low key. What a hidden gem!

Firstly we arrived in the lobby and headed straight for the rooftop. The rooftop level is not clearly marked. Luckily there were some friendly locals who offered to show us the way. Once we reached the top level there was a slight maze through an exit day and up some stairs then we reached the top. And what a view! It's simply spectacular and overlooks all of South Beach.

The decor is funky minimalist and the cocktail list matches the the theme. We opted for vodka & sodas which forgetting that the US is the land of the freepour put some hair on our chests!

There is such a relaxed, chilled vibe here. We got there at sunset and there want really a crowd yet which felt like we were on our own private rooftop.

It feels like the tourists haven't discovered this gem yet so if you get a chance check it out before the crowds flock here. A sunset experience not to miss!

I have to admit I was worried about this place from the previous reviews, but was pleasantly surprised we we arrived. We stayed 2 nights (pre and post recent cruise). First night arrived late on a Saturday night (11:00PM) during spring break. The streets were crazy and the lobby was full of partying young people. Checked in quickly, and the front desk clerk let us know to call immediately if we had any problems with the party crowd. Fortunately, there was not an issue with the noise that night. Yes, the rooms are sparsely decorated, but they are clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. After having the free breakfast, we left for our cruise. A week later, we checked in again, this time, pretty early (9:00 AM). There were no rooms ready, but the clerk suggested a tour to see the city on the hop-on-hop-off tour. They sell tickets at the desk, so we decided to see the town! 5 hours later we returned after seeing ALL of Miami and got our room. Again, nice, clean room - not the best, but great for the price! There is some noise from the streets and nearby pools and clubs - but it's South Beach! Perfect location to walk and enjoy the beach or the many places on Collins and Washington ave. Everyone was very friendly and helpful - we thoroughly enjoyed or 2 stays at this hotel!

Perfect hotel with all the necessary requirements available for a nice stay. Rooms are good, shower is nice and breakfast is fine. You can rent bikes to check our Miami Beach. All tourist locations are close by and you can easy visit the beach.

Nice and friendly hotel with a perfect location on the Collins with easy access to the beach. Fair rates, clean and spacious white rooms , free wi fi, standard breakfast. Really not easy to find a better accomodation right in the hearth of South Beach

Over the years there have been a few changes at the Townhouse and a few things have been tried and then ditched. Essentially the vibe is the same as 3 years ago, chic and uncluttered appearance. Extremely high levels of cleanliness and presentation from top to bottom.

The breakfast remains a major highlight with eggs and cream cheese motif in a good Parisian style buffet. The lobby ambience where breakfast is served is beautiful night and day. The rooftop terrace allows nice sunbathing and relaxing during the days and a great social environment at night.

I love this hotel and chose it above the super high-end 5* places in SoBe which I could easily afford but they have none of the charm and sweet character of townhouse. Townhouse does not feel commercial and 'servicey'.

My only criticism is that the Wi-Fi is occasionally a little bit wobbly, overwhelmingly I get my online tasks done as expected but I'm not sure Skype would work brilliantly.

Easy reach to ocean, Lincoln and the airport (30mins by cab easily). The cab service provided to the hotel is amazingly punctual and reliable. Valet is typical SoBe price but excellent. There is a good cheap covered lot on 17th which is 5-10 mins walk away if you want to economise.

I think of Banyan Tree, Lebua, Fairmont hotels I have stayed at in the past and Townhouse consistently stands out because of its overall charm, location and vibe.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great, the superior ones are slightly more spacious and brighter but this is a min...

I spent three nights here, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. When I arrived I knew that this hotel was a small "boutique" style so I had some idea of what I was in for. The lobby was very clean and the gentleman at the front desk was polite. He provided information regarding the complementary breakfast, wifi as well as details on beach chair rentals and the rooftop lounge. I was even able to work quietly in the sunroom area one afternoon

The rooms are sparsely decorated to give a modern look but they actually feel cold. There is a small refrigerator in the closet but it is awkward to use. There was only one outlet I could find and the best "views" are of the neighboring rooftops.

My room was on the fourth floor just beneath the rooftop lounge. This wasn't so bad Thursday but both Friday & Saturday it was extremely loud inside my room.

While I probably wouldn't stay in this area of South Beach again, this hotel wasn't that bad since I didn't really come to Miami to hang out in the hotel.

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. The service was appalling, front of staff totally incompetent. We had a standard room which was "clinical" looking! Like a hospital room. A platform bed, concrete floors. The bathroom was old and dirty. There's a nightclub across the road, opposite. You can here the music which didn't bother us. But cars racing, horns, singing 2am until 5am? The car valet is also slow. Will never stay again!
