Owner description: People watching is a great pastime in Miami's South Beach, which draws celebrities and beautiful people in skimpy swim attire to see and be seen. The wide and fine, white sand-covered beaches are popular spots for fashion photo shoots, so you're sure to see models. The area is known for its hip clubs and wild nightlife as well as numerous excellent restaurants.

“Very nice/grainy sand”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Great place to see and be seen. The sand is very rough and grainy, not like the soft white sand of the west coast.

“A bit much!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2014

I guess it depends on how old you are. If you enjoy the action all night, if you want to walk all night and people watch, shop, or drink and dance. The area has it all. A place to go once, if your young and single and you want to indulge and dance all night, it is there for you too. If you want to people watch then watch from a distance as some of them were very "suspect", and had too many not too nice things to say when they were high on something,..and a bit too touchy. Both Collins, Ocean Bld and Washington had some areas to avoid at night. During the day, all was fine, with great clothing stores and places to sit watching the crowds go by while have a patio drink. There is something for everyone here, just do your homework, know what type of person you are and what you can handle and adjust yourself accordingly.
The beach was good, tough at times to find parking so get a hotel a block or two away. The water warm, bring plastic to the beach in a cooler and you can have a great time day or night.

“Would go ahain tomorrow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014 via mobile

Visited south beach folliwing a cruise. Didn't need to rent a car, walked everywhere from our hotel, The Pelican, on Ocean Blvd. Fantastic restaurants, easy to navigate, amazing people, gorgeous beach and the best cushioned lounge chairs ever. Loved it!

“An ocean of enjoying!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

I must confess something: Before 2013, I'd never visited USA. Call me old fashioned, cause I remained fascinated to Europe and its classical beauty. But... there´s a first time for everything. And a second time, in this case. In my first one, I didn´t count with many time to knew and enjoyed South Beach, cause my family and I returned from Orlando, We only had four days before returning to our homeland.
But in 2014 we had our revenge! We stayed at Collins Avenue and 43st, around the corner from Beach. However, access to the beach are simple and it has parking and public transport. Chairs, parasols and towels are rented along the entire beach and have broad price according to what part of the beach you are, so is suitable to stay in the sector with more affordable prices if you want to spend less money. You also have acuatic distractions, such as Jet ski or parapente (in a few shores)
Water presents Caribbean colour, the sea is often calm but if you can´t swim you must searching for a place who has lifeguard.
If you want to eat, you have lots of options just a block away, on Collins Av. Don´t miss beach sunsets, they´re awesome!

“Bring tons of money!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

Loved it, hated how much we had to spend to have fun. It is not a place for the cheap at heart or wallet. We dropped thousands in just a few days. Get ready to see some sights, spend lots of money and bring home the great memories. Fun time! We will go back again some day.
