The wide and fine, white sand-covered beaches are popular spots for fashion photo shoots, so you're sure to see models. The area is known for its hip clubs and wild nightlife as well as numerous excellent restaurants. « less

“Sadly Tacky”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

My hotel provided an excellent book on the history of South Beach and it's glamorous past. Those days of Gable, Sinatra and the rest are long gone. Today's stars have their secure retreats the the smaller islands off Miami Beach leaving South Beach a tacky, down-market shadow of it's former self.

“A Tourist's Journey”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

If you plan to go there for a day, avoid a weekend as you will never find a place to park on the street. Valet parking costs $25 and up. Try to park near Lincoln Road and walk to SOBE. You do not need dinner reservations as there are many fine restaurants at all price ranges open all day and night. Dress casually-No formal wear required.

“the heart beat of miami”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

we have spent several days in south beach or as it's defined: sobe.
this is the heart beat of the city of miami.
it never sleeps. in the morning you can see people training on the road or enjoy the whole day at the beach or hang around to do some shopping and in the night all the clubs will welcome you till the following morning.
