The beaches are wide, sandy, easy accesible and not too crowded. You can get drinks on the beach, and the life guards pay good attention. The wave are a bit to high for younger kids to enjoy (there is a chance they get washed away).
The beach was clean, the people who work for the hotels that give you towels and chairs are very polite. the only thing that I didnt like was that you couldn't have a drink.
You haven't been to Miami without experiencing to vie of South Street. On a busket list, easy to cross off after seeing and experiencing the atmosphere and attitude .
The people watching and the archetecture is fantastic. The old Art Deco buildings are an eye feast.
Don't stop for breakfast. We ate at two different sidewalk restaurants; the food came out cold both days and it was too windy
Without a doubt this is a must see when you are in the Miami area. You'll find a pristine beach with white sand and aqua waters across the street from a wide array of restaurants, hotels and shops with a trendy vibe and an upbeat feel. You have to spend at least a day here but make sure you bring your wallet. We ordered drinks from the two for one specials at one of the curbside cafes there but the kicker was that the drinks were 25$ each! These delicious concoctions were loaded with alcohol and the end result was an unplanned mid afternoon buzz which had to wear off before the drive home. If I was twenty years younger you can be sure I would have checked out the strip in the evening. Mangos, Wet Willies and the like must be hopping for sure!
