My wife and I stayed here recently during a long weekend in Miami, as I found it on Trip Advisor (good reviews) , not wanting to spend $$$ for hotel. There were many aspects of Chic Place that we liked: the location, the property itself (small & reasonably quiet) and the proximity to nearby bars, resturants and shopping. We consciously did not rent a car for the weekend, having heard/read that parking is a real problem in Miami Beach and towing companies are nortorious for picking up any car parking outside the lines of what's legal. That wasn't a problem fo rus, as there is a lot in the neighbrohood of Chic Place that's walkable, and even catching a cab to get closer to the beach wasn't a problem.
The unit we stayed in was nice, but really bare bones in terms of ammenities. Not a clock in the place, a coffee maker, but no coffee filters (or coffee for that matter), an ice maker in the refrigerator that didn't work, no extra blanket or duvet for the bed, etc. While we didn't expect a fully kitted out apartment, there are some basic ammenities that one becomes accustomed to from travel and staying in hotels. The good news is that these shorcomings were solved by a Friday night shopping trip to a nearby Publix grocery store and a trip to the nearby Pottery Barn for an additional bed cover.
Draisa the manager was quite helpful and accomodating, but there was only so much she could do. Having stayed here once, we'll know better on what to do in advance (bring stuff) and will likely give it another go when we come to the Miami Beach area.
