Collins Ave. has some interesting art deco hotels, but I preferred walking on Ocean Drive just one street over because it was more pedestrian friendly and had even more examples of art deco architecture. However, there are more shops on Collins Ave. (including a Barney's) if you're looking to do some shopping.
Collins Avenue is the perfect place to stay in South Beach plenty of old art deco hotels to choose from. There is plenty of shopping, lots of restaurants and easy to get around. The variety of activities keeps Collins Avenue a fun place to be, very entertaining.
Collins has lots of neat hotels and is great for taking a stroll along the waterfront. It's a little less hectic here than the heart of "South Beach." Take a stroll along the intracoastal side and check out all the boats along the way.
Next to ocean drive collins is the place to be its where most of the hotels are and you can find some nice ones for a reasonable price
We stayed in this street which is quieter and less congested than Ocean Drive. Some good shopping and nice Art Deco buildings.
