OK so there's a ferry ride there, yippie. You need to know someone or be invited to actually run around there and once you do, that's all. The biggest attraction, besides trying to figure out what these people do for a living, besides being stars is the security they have.

Whenever I am there, I wonder what they do if they forgot to get something at the grocery store...oh I forgot...they don't go to the grocery store.

Stay on the mainland, if you just want to see what it's like there, you probably don't belong there.

If the restaurants on Fisher Island could be Zagat rated, they'd all have very high marks. Fisher Island is a private Resort and Residential community and private club, so the only way to dine is to be a a Hotel/Resort Guest ( worth the price) or to become a member or resident.
Talk about great food and great venues. The Beach Club Outdoor Restaurant is so close to the water, you'll wonder if the fresh fish was caught right there! It's perfect setting for beach dining. Then there's Porto Cervo probably Miami's finest gourmet Italian restaurant. There are other options too, The Garwod which is a traditional Steak, Chops and Seafood menu with a gourmet flare.
City View restaurant offers lighter Bistro fare and the Trattoria arguably has the best light Italian dishes and Miami's best thin crust pizza. There is also the Golf Grill that has the best in traditional club food.
Stay a night or a week, you won't get tired of the food, the scenery or the very fine food that Exec Chef Stephane puts into the multiple restaurants on this superb resort and club experience.

Well didn't go on the island self, but the boattrip is a must do not only for the views but for the good information and sometimes tips !

Beautiful landscape, I saw the island from the sea and it was so romantic, completely green, full of beautiful trees, plants and flowers!
