“Great location, great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 days ago NEW

My husband and I stayed here last January for three nights. The room was really big, had a full kitchen, small bath (typical for South Beach), comfy bed. The reception desk staff was unfailingly polite and helpful and friendly. The location is great, no car needed! Beach, restaurants and shopping all within walking distance or hop on the South Beach Shuttle if your feet get tired. Or grab a bike from the bikeshare program, easy as anything.
Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Second floor was fine but there is no elevator, so if you have a lot of luggage, first floor would p...

Cheap motel, close to beach.. Older motel, but very good. Lots of restaurants close by. The Italian one right here at motel was wonderful...great food...
Marcelo at front desk, was wonderful...very helpful... We were here two nights before going on our cruise. Convenience store next door 24hrs, cigs, beer, wine, few coolers drinks handy for fridge in room, and fresh brewed Java.
We were on 2nd floor, no elevator used stairs.
Great value for price, we would book again, definitely, from the Tiara girls from Ottawa , Canada! Thanks.

To list out the positive things about this hotel, I would start with its proximity to the bustling night life in Miami Beach. The hotel is literally at the center and everything looks to be in a walking distance. There are not many options for a parking except for a municipal parking lot at 13th St. and Collins Avenue. You are recommended to not use valet parking, since you pay around $20 per day in this parking lot.

The hotel prices in Miami Beach can get very steep, which was one reason that we chose this hotel as a "budget" accommodation. Then again you get what you pay for. As in: The hotel looks very rundown. All the doors appear like they would go down with a kick. The water pressure in the shower was not adequate. The bed was not that comfortable. I can even add a couple more things to the list for only a two nights' stay.

Also, we were checking in late for the day we arrived in Miami. For this reason we tried to call the hotel multiple times to make arrangements and nobody answered, which in turn caused us to rush our dinner to not be stranded in the dead of the night. When we arrived in a rush, the front desk was present. Unlike some comments I did not find the front desk to be very attentive.

All in all, a very old and rundown hotel with a reasonable price for its proximity to the beach and highlights in the area.

Now the good parts about Ocean Reef was their front desk, they were always there at practically any hour and were ready for questions. They definitely did their jobs. The hotel itself is a small one on Collins Ave, one of the main shopping, restaurant and touristy roads next to Ocean Dr, certainly good location. Lots of restaurants, bars and clubs right next door. So if you're here for those, you will not have to go far and the beach is also a step away. The hotel itself leaves a bit more to be desired. The rooms are actually roomy, and they try to make it look nice, but up close, it's worn down and dirty. Housekeeping comes to clean the rooms each day, but the bathrooms still seem dirty and there are most certainly stains around the room and bathroom. But, if you're in Miami Beach to have fun, then you won't be sleeping much anyway, so Ocean Reef Suites is a place to just sleep and hopefully you can ignore the other details. If you drove yourself to the area, Valet at Ocean Reef is not bad, but it can take quite a while to get your car in and out so you must call 20+ minutes in advance. Other than this, Ocean Reef Suites wasn't a bad stay, but it'd be nice if they fixed it up a little.

Checked in on a sunday AM, left Thursday AM. Upon entering the room a strong bleach scent assailed our nostrils. We thought that was from being 'just cleaned' but going onto the bathroom, the windowsill was dirty!!! The countertop in kitchen area was filthy...whoever is cleaning needs a housecleaning course, to say the least. If sign isn't on the door handle requesting service, you can forget getting your bed made or fresh towels. Basic breakfast...the family friend who went with us never bother going down for any cause they don't serve eggs. PROS: Close to beach and shopping/restaurants

The best feature of this hotel is the location in the middle of South Beach. Lincoln shopping mall, bars, restaurants and beach to be reached in short walk.
Hotel is very basic and needs renovation. We were given family room, which mean that there was paper thin door in between of us and our neighbours. We heard every word of conversation till late night hours. Shower mixer was broken - only hot or cold water options. Breakfast was basic and served in lobby. No tables there, so you need to carry your breakfast to the room. WiFi is free, although signal is weak and it's very slow in busy time of the day.
