“Great location and excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2014

I had to write a review to commend the staff of La Flora Miami on such excellent service. The young guys at the front desk were very professional and friendly, and the room was clean and quiet which made our stay that much more enjoyable.

Surprised by large room with a separate sitting room. We were upstairs and the building in front shielded us from street noise. Basic breakfast but loved fresh orange juice. Half a block away you can take a trolley for 25 cents to go to antique show at convention center or other landmarks. If it were cooler it would be an easy walk. A little pricy but reasonable for the area.
taxi from airport is $40.00

Boutique hotel 2 blocks from the beach and one block from the very busy Ocean Dr. Easy access to Miami Beach restaurants and fun, in a quieter setting.
We had a Deluxe room with 2 queen beds. Room configuration was mini-suite like, which provided extra space with a fridge and a sink. The TV was in that part of the room, so quite far from the beds which was a bit odd for the kids to watch TV.
Our room was on the 2nd floor above some hotel machinery (air conditioning?) and the floor in the bathroom and suite space was shaking the whole time. The shaking subsided in the bedroom portion, so we were OK.
Service was friendly at all times. Breakfast was included and adequate, though it is in the hotel lobby which is not setup to accommodate very many guests at once. You can eat on the terrace outside (it was too hot and humid for us then).

Room Tip: Avoid the shaking floor?

We stayed here for two days in between a cruise and a trip to Cuba. The customer service is fantastic! The front desk, nightly open bar, and daily free continental breakfast could not have better people serving you. If you are easily disturbed by noise, I'd bring ear plugs as the building is located near a club and next to a parking lot. The rooms are small, and our bed wasn't the best to tell the truth, but all in all, the fact that you are treated like family more than made up for the issues I stated. The hotel is located 1.5 blocks from the beach, 5 blocks from Lincoln Avenue, and 3 blocks from Havana 1957, a great restaurant that the front desk recommended.

This hotel is a simple 2 star hotel that is 100% worth the money and worth staying at if you want clean rooms, halls and bathrooms, plus excellent service. Rooms are large, but spare. Ours was two combined so two closets, two armchairs and a coffee table; good counter space in bathroom, plus a frig and coffee maker. Free drinks at happy hour from a cheerful, knowledgeable bar tender. Breakfast is complementary, served by another very cheerful person-- excellent coffee and juice plus usual bagels, etc.
Manager, Ros, helped us with our bags, parking was simple ($25 for 24 hours plus in-out privileges), and the location is excellent. Construction ongoing but it did not inconvenience us. Bed was queen size and comfortable. Would recommend and would return. I usually stay at Le Meridien, but am happy with a hotel like this which does what it does very well.

Room Tip: ask for room not facing the road as people like to party in South Beach

La Flora is a nice boutique hotel with a perfect location on Collins Avenue and in walking distance to Ocean Dr and the beach. We loved it as it was so close to everything: shopping, restaurants, bars, beach and attractions. As we were gone visiting most of the day we left our car in the metered parking lot next door (there are also some parking garages close by) over the night, so it was not that expensive. The room was spacious and very clean, with a fridge and good air conditioning. Our room was on the south side and was very quiet. The service was great, everybody was there to help you, always with a smile on their faces. They can provide a lot of recommendation on restaurants or trips. The breakfast is not fancy, but is enough to keep you going until a good lunch near the beach. I would definitely come back to this hotel because of its location and great value for money. It was one of the best small hotels we stayed in Miami so far.

I stayed here over president day weekend for a quick getaway on the beach. Evelyn was real funny, and helpful;Great to see a pretty face in the mornings. Hotel is small and quaint and close to all the cool spots. Ocean drive was a drag as always but staff always have good suggestions. Will recommend
