“BEST HOTEL IN SOUTH BEACH HANDS DOWN!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

I got married earlier this month and was working with the hotel manager, Ros, for the past 6 months on securing a room block for my out of town guests. Not only was Ros the nicest, most helpful person that I worked with throughout my entire wedding experience, but the actual hotel itself blew me away. The rooms were super affordable compared to everything else that was around the same area, and they were 10 TIMES BETTER! The rooms all had hard wood floors and were extremely spacious. I have lived in South Florida my entire life and have stayed at numerous South Beach boutique hotels. Normally you get what you pay for---old, dirty, moldy, TINY rooms. But La Flora is definitely South Beach's hidden gem. Ros took time out of her day to show us all the different suites we could choose for our guests to stay in and I was amazed at how big and clean all of the rooms were. My husband and I knew right away that this was the hotel for our guests. It is in the heart of everything-only a block from the beach and steps away from all the restaurants, shopping, and action. They have a great continental breakfast in the morning and the staff is so attentive and personable. All of our guests can't stop talking about what a great trip they had and the hotel was at the top of the list for all of them. Every time I stopped by, I would always see all of our guests congregated on the porch or in the lobby just hanging out and having some drinks, watching the people go by. All of our guests were greeted with a free welcome cocktail which set the tone for the rest of their vacation. Thank you Ros & La Flora Hotel for making this such a pleasant experience for us and all of our out of towners. Javier & I can't wait to come back to stay at La Flora for a long weekend, or maybe even our anniversary!
Love, Marissa

Room Tip: Book in advance, this is a small hotel with lots of charm. Rooms fill up fast!

We had never been to South Beach, so we choose La Flora based on the hotel's Tip Advisor ratings. It did not let down. We were only in town one night (end of March), but received great service from everyone at the hotel.

We had arrived from the airport earlier than check-in, but was able to get right into our room, which was actually upgraded! Thank you. We used the valet at the hotel, which was $25, that seemed safer than just leaving the car in a city lot overnight. We had rented a car from one of the company's in the airport and our actual car was not available and had to be driven to us later that night, and La Flora's valet service was excellent with letting us switch out the cars with no problems.

In the morning, they have a pretty decent breakfast in the lobby. We weren't sure about the check-out time, but wanted to head to the beach for a little while that day and they let us check-out an hour later than normal with no problems. Such nice service. We worked with Carlos at the front desk both during check-in and check-out and he was fantastic!! Couldn't ask for a better employee.

The TV had issues, and Carlos was fast at sending up the maintenance repair man. We found out the whole service was down for the hotel, but the repair man made sure to check on us a few times. That was not a big deal since we wouldn't be spending much time in our room anyway. The room, other than that, was great. It was simple, but it had a great bed, good size bathroom, couch and kitchenette area (nice to have a mini fridge for left-overs). It was everything we needed it to be. As well as one block from Ocean drive, so it was right in the center of all of South Beach's attractions... easy walk to shopping, a ton of restaurants, the board walk and the beach. If we go back to South Beach we will definitely stay at La Flora again.

This is one of the best deals I've had in terms of hotels. It is located in the heart of Miami Beach, in the art deco district, in the middle of everything. It is nice, clean, simple: you can say it is an old hotel by the kind of oldish design of the rooms, but it must have been renovated very recently because it looks sparkling new. Staff is super-friendly. Even if we stayed there during spring break season, we did not have any problem with noise. And, it is very cheap for the location: I mean, you are literally one block away from the beach, in a historical super-touristic district, a few blocks from anything sold under the Sun and from scores of fine restaurants, and it costs like a good hotel out in the middle of nowhere. One of the best deals ever, anyone considering a vacation in Miami Beach (and Florida Keys, and Everglades like us) should rush to secure a room here.

Room Tip: Take a room far from the main street. It will be even less noisy.

My hubby and I stayed at La Flora before a cruise leaving out of Miami. I generally use TripAdvisor when looking for places to stay and am glad the reviews I read were spot on. Everyone at the hotel was helpful and friendly. The location is excellent and close to all the hot spots. When and if I get back to South Beach this is the place I will stay. I wish I could remember the names of everyone we met working there but alas I can't but they were all very nice and great at giving advice on things to do and see.

Room Tip: I felt staying in a king suite was a plus and the individual air conditioning control system for eac...

We were soooooo pleased with this hotel. obviously recently renovated as the rooms were a delight, very bright, clean and airy and the bed was lush. we found the staff really welcoming and helpful when needing recommendations for bars, restaurants etc. we had stayed elsewhere on Collins a couple of years ago and were very disappointed with it; so this came as a refreshing surprise. Complimentary drink went down a treat as did the freebie breakfast - hangover bagels - cant beat em!! we will definitely recommend this one to our pals. Thanks to the staff for all your help/advice etc.

It is always nice to have a refreshing surprise and so glad you found it with us !!!
Each and every member of staff strives to make an impression and we are very happy that you enjoyed our hotel to the point that you will return and being avid golfers I’m glad you found a golf course within a good proximity of the hotel to your liking. Now let’s talk about the Hangover Bagels which I have to say we found very amusing … must have been the bowl of Mojitos on Ocean Drive ! Many thanks for a lovely review and a pleasure to have you both as our guests …. Hurry Back !!!

Location location location! This hotel has the best location - next to the beach, market, restaurants and most important of all next to the bus stops. All the buses you would need to see Miami and Sobe stop nearby. There's a parking next to the hotel , but we only used the buses.Hotel staff is friendly, always smiling and willing to help :) The room and bathroom are well sized. After reading so many reviews about Miami hotels being a mess, this was a welcome surprised - spotlessly clean and immaculate. Loved our stay, and if we had to return, it would be La flora!

I stayed at the La Flora about 2 years ago & the new management definitely put some money into this place since. The rooms are clean, have new beds, mattresses, light fixtures, furniture, flooring, TV's, have WIFI & are freshly painted. The new "look" is a modern art deco style. The location is good just south of 13th street & 1 1/2 blocks west of Ocean Drive...where all the action is. There is a municipal parking lot next to the hotel & a parking garage on 13th St., between Collins & Ocean Dr., which is the one I used ($20/day). I was also told that the rooms are going to be getting new refrigerators....which they had (old ones) when I was there 2 years ago but were gone this visit. Room rates averaged $202/night for the 3 nights I was there (April 2-5) but it was still peak season & spring break, too. Nice feel of the old art deco age but w/a modern remodel. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Try to stay on the south side away from the parking lot & back from the lobby.
