Booked through Hotels.com. Granted, it was 6 1/2 years ago that I stayed there, so I am not aware if anything has changed over the years. So, my review is written in the "present tense" as I remember my visit. Since the travel timeframes on this site only go back just so far, it will show the oldest date out, but in reality, I was there in November 2006.
Small "boutique" on South Beach. I only use the word "boutique" to the unique location of South Beach.
Even though the rooms face inward to a communal sidewalk on the property, the noise from the public sidewalk on Ocean Drive can be really bad at night when there is a substantial amount of foot traffic in the area.
The only positive is that my room was quite large. Now comes all the really bad parts. Everything was totally filthy except maybe the sheets on the bed. Carpet needed cleaning, sink and lavatory area nasty, bathtub a disgrace. The sofa and chairs were stained and very dirty and looked like they had never been cleaned.
There really was no meal service to speak of, except for cold toast and coffee the morning I checked out, so how they could even begin to promote a "restaurant" is beyond me.
The very worst was when I was settling the bill, I had been charged for an extra day. The attendant at the front desk refused to credit my credit card, was rude and argumentative, even though it was obvious to anyone with a basic understanding of the situation that I was being charged for a day I was not even there. I wound up writing the corporate office of the hotel group and the website where I had booked the room. The corporate group never ever responded. The website folks finally sent me a credit of about $40, a mere drop in the bucket to what the room rate was at the time.
