A friend of mine and I decided to stay here for one night after our cruise. One night was not long enough. When we checked in, the staff was very friendly. We checked in before the check in time, and they said that there was only 1 King bed available, and we had requested 2 beds. They said we can wait another hour to get the room with two beds. It was nice to have that option.

The cookie we each recieved upon check in was so delicious! I loved how the internet was free, and they have a printer set up to print out what ever needed for free as well.

Busy location, and busy hotel, but so worth it. Looks recently renovated, and the rooms were great. The bathroom was a little 'dated', and the toilet seat was really low, but clean. We didn't have a great view, but again, we were given the option of a city view, or courtyard view. Bed was comfy, and there was a flat screen tv in our room!

Just a great experience all around. The beach is just right there, and a few blocks down from all shopping and tourist attractions. The art deco theme is just neat to see all together, and for the hotel to be a part of that, is a nice change.

Did not check out the restaurants at the hotel, so can't say much about that, but were advised about them upon check in, with their hours, and brochures as well. Breakfast seemed decently priced for the room service menu, but did not take advantage of that either.

Bell service is friendly as well, and after we said no to carrying our luggage to our room, one seen that my friend was struggling with hers, to get up the stairs, and so he came and helped her anyways. She tipped him of course, but didn't have to.

As a travel agent, I would recommend this hotel to most travellers. It's not a high class hotel, but definitely worth visiting if you're staying a couple nights.

Doubletree Surfcomber Hotel Miami-South Beach

Perhaps it was because we had just spent two great nights
at the Fountainbleau.......the Surfcomber is a tourist trap. Our feet
stuck to the filthy stairwells. My young adult children would not
get in the pool. Big party there on the 10th and 11th of July..
I was told by the desk clerk that the pool had been shocked and
was available to use. Believe me when I say the whole place
has been shocked. Hotel ads read recently renovated rooms.
Recently ......I think dates back to 2000 and much has fallen apart since then. The hotel staff was nice and tried to be helpful but
we were all Sooooooooo glad to leave.

The Fourth of July weekend was the wrong time to be at the Doubletree Surfcomer in Miami Beach. They rented their pool area for a mass party and after 1A.M. when the earsplitting music stopped the hotel filled with intoxicated party goers who kept us awake the rest of the night, We checked out the next morning cutting short our vacation. I feel the hotel abandoned its guests and sold out its responsibility to provide comfortable family lodging.

I had stayed back at this same hotel yeas ago. and after reading some of the past reviews I was a bit on edge and worried as I made my way to south beach for a 5 day stay with my girlfriend.
After getting to the front door I was reminded of how sweet this place really was. The remodeling on this hotel was great!
I got a small but clean and hip room over looking the path way to the pool. I had a nice time at this place the room service was good and room service was helpful. THE POOL WAS GREAT !!!!
guys please go here if your thinking about heading to South beach !
