“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

The Surfcomber is a lovely boutique hotel. Think smaller, less crowded, great vibe, great service. The staff is amazing. The amenities are enjoyable-free wine hour daily! Free coffee, hot or iced all morning. Great breakfast, lunch and dinner options if you don't want to walk to Lincoln Road or Ocean Drive or perhaps Espanola Way. In other words-Great location! The beach staff were also terrific with the chairs, towels and umbrellas. The king bed room was nicely decorated and I really appreciated the window in the bathroom:)

Room Tip: The rooms with 2 queens all have a bathtub for families with small children. The king bed room had a...

Dear Lori P,

Thank you for posting about your fantastic stay with us at the Surfcomber! Coffee to get you going, the beach for a sun tan, and finish the day with wine - looks like you really enjoyed Miami! I'm happy to hear it. Let's do it again soon.

Stayed here for the weekend for a bachelorette party with 7 other girls. The rooms are a little small even for ny standard but the bed and amenities were fantastic! The best part of this hotel is the staff!! I have travelled in many many places in the world and I have to say that the staff at this hotel were the nicest and most accommodating! Really friendly and go above and beyond. The food at the restaurant was pretty good. We were fortunate enough that they were participating in Miami Spice the weekend we were there and so we had a 3 course meal for 22 dollars per person. We didn't really stay at the pool because there wasn't any room of all of us- (pool was a little small and cramp) but they had a dj from 12-5 with good beats. The beach was nice- the only down side of it was that the beach chairs were ran by a different company. Apparently only 2 chairs is included per room and the extra is 15 dollars per person. I can understand this if you booked a king bed but i think it would make most sense if they included 4 chairs if you book 2 queens size beds.
The doorman gave us great tips of where to go at night !1 Thanks!! Will definitely stay again

Surfcomber is a really nice boutique hotel. The location was perfect, it was right next to other party pools and hotels but it was nice and quiet inside. And the beach is right outside, towel service and beach chairs also available. The staff were all nice and very helpful. I love the free wine at 5pm.

There was only one pool that gets a little crowded in the afternoon but it's fun because they had activities like Pool Hoops(basketball but water polo style).

They offer different activities for each day of the week but we weren't able to do them because we were only there for 2 days.

I love Surfcomber, I will definitely stay here again.

This is a really nice hotel, situated in Miami Beach, a few metres from the beach itself. Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive are at walking distance. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly and helpful. Recommended if you want to enjoy Miami Beach!

VinceSaitta,

Thanks for taking the time to mention our loyalty program, Kimpton InTouch. Raiding the mini bar, a glass of bubbly at check in, and free wifi - how could you not?? :) If you continue to stay at Kimpton Hotels, you could eventually make your way up to Inner Circle - which is super awesome! I attached a link so you could check it out. http://www.kimptonhotels.com/InTouch/KIT_rewards-new.aspx

Great tip - the suites are very sweet. Come back soon!
Best,
Nick

if you are thinking about booking the surfcomber, don't hesitate. It has one of the best locations in Miami beach, and one of a handful directly on the beach (like neigbours Delano and Sagamore). Its a smaller cosier hotel but despite this boasts the same size pool and garden area, and this alone is a s strong point. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the service is very friendly and welcoming. There is very little to fault with this hotel at all. Food can be a bit inconistent it terms of quality and delivery times, but there are alternatives close by. we would not even consider any other hotel if we revsiit miami beach again,

visby01,

Thank you for your feedback about your recent stay with us. I am happy to hear that you wouldn't hesitate to stay with us again, but I noticed your comments about the inconsistencies with food and timing. I will be sure to share your comments so we can work on improving those areas where we have opportunities. That way next time you stay, you wont even have to hesitate to just stay on property for lunch and dinner too!

Best,
Nick

We had a wonderful week at the Surfcomber during our 4 week tour of Florida. We booked it after reading good reviews and were not disappointed. It is in an excellent location - not right in the heart of the party scene but still walking distance to ocean drive and lincoln mall.
The staff at the pool, reception and management could not do enough to make our stay fantastic. The daily wine hour was fantastic - free wine to start your evening off - what a fantastic concept. Marco, Jonathan, Chris at the pool were great and always on had to help. The pool chairs included towels, suncream and plenty of cold water to keep rehydrated. There is also a great pool bar which sells cocktails and great burgers.
We took the option of taking part in the Art Deco walking tour and the cycle tour hosted by the hotel and completely free. This was fantastic and we were surprised that more hotel guests did not sign up for it because it really gave us a flavour of Miami Beach and it's history. Chris - who hosted these tours - was great. He even gave us great restaurant recommendations which stood up to his word.
It is clear that the management have got it spot on at this hotel - with the concept and reality of personal service. The whole package - wine hour, tours, suncream, personal service where the staff learn your names and remember them. Well done Surfcomber and thank you.
(We took a walk north the the more expensive Fontainbleu and realised that we had really stayed at the best hotel in town. As the north section of the beach is now full of hotel refurbs with a lot of building work going on and too far from the restaurants etc)
Thank you Surcomber - we recommend this hotel very highly.
