My wife and I just returned from our trip to Miami and the Bahamas. After some research we decided to stay, during the shoulders of our cruise, at the Grand Beach Hotel. We found the hotel and her staff to be of the highest caliber! We arrived at the hotel early on both occasions and Lauren at the front desk was extremely helpful and found us an ocean front suite within minutes. We found the hotel and her grounds to be impeccably maintained and well designed to afford maximum beach front efficiency. The lobby and reception are beautiful and modernly appointed. The hotel's main bar is conveniently located in the lobby. The hotel does have two other bars, one by the pool and one next to the adult pool on the seventh floor. We never found the bar on 7 to be open but that was fine with us as we enjoyed spending time with Jasmine at the main bar and people watching as new guests arrived.
Both times our room was immaculate and beautiful. The suites have a large bedroom, at sitting area, two bathrooms, twin flat-panel TVs, small refrigerator, large closets, and the ocean front rooms afford a grand and romantic view of the ocean. Please note that the rooms do not have a mini bar but room services is very quick and friendly. The hotel restaurant is Chez Gaston and the food is very good, especially the expansive breakfast buffet. We found the restaurant staff very helpful and friendly, especially Stephanie who speaks several languages including sign language. The hotel is close to several other resorts who have restaurants that can be experienced. We had planned to try 1500 degrees but decided to take Stephanie's advice and try some of the eateries down at Lincoln Street.
More about the hotel and her grounds. Walking towards the back of the hotel you will find an espresso and gelato bar, a common area and a small gift shop. Walking further you will find the doors to the outdoor pool area. This area has two large pools, two spas, lots of seating and completely canopied with palm trees. Note that this area is highly shaded and not really designed for sunning. Walking just past the pools you will find the walkway to the beach. At the beach you can rent chairs and small sun shelters. This is where you will spend your time if you are looking to become golden tan. The beach is beautiful, well maintained and great to walk in the morning or at night.
All in all we loved the hotel. We had read some slight negative comments about the price of things but you really need to take into account that this Miami Beach! If you want to go cheap, try Ft. Lauderdale. As always my biggest tip to my fellow travelers…tip the staff that work hard to make your stay an enjoyable one!
Always ask for an ocean front upgrade!

Thank you for your wonderful review. At the Grand Beach Hotel, we definitely do our best to prioritize good customer service- we are happy to have successfully managed to provide you and your wife with just that. Thank you for your kind comments directed towards Lauren; she is truly a great asset to our team. At the Grand Beach Hotel, we are always happy when able to provide guests with early check-ins. Even though we cannot guarantee those, as long as your suite is ready and available upon arrival we will check you in with pleasure. We are glad you have enjoyed our overall facilities, beachfront location, and the views offered of both the ocean and bay throughout the hotel. It is great our property’s décor and interior design have been to your liking. You are right on target in your description of the bars available on property. The 7th floor bar is currently open Thursdays through Sundays from 2pm until 10pm- for these and other hours of operation onsite you could check any of the TVs in your suite. This bar will change its hours of operation again in January. We recommend you on future visits to try our 7th floor bar past 3pm, when you can order not only drinks but fresh made sushi as well. We are glad you have enjoyed our spacious room accommodations, the in-room amenities, and beautiful ocean views they have to offer. Thank you for the positive feedback on our restaurant- Chez Gaston, we could not be happier the food and service have been to your taste. We agree with you that Stephanie’s multi-language proficiency is truly impressive. You are correct once again to mention that the nearby hotels offer some variety for dining; however, Lincoln Road is not only close to the hotel but also provides for a greater dining options and gives you a better feel of South Beach. It seems like you have explored the property quite well, as you are very accurate in your description of Grand Beach Hotel’s grounds. Thank you for the great recommendations you have provided to other travelers for the first floor family pool, which is indeed a bit shaded by the landscape, and the direct beach access, where guests of the hotel can rent beach chairs and umbrellas for more comfort.
Thank you for this excellent review. We are sure many travelers would find it helpful and informative. We are definitely looking forward to having the pleasure of welcoming you and your wife back to the Grand Beach Hotel and hope to have this opportunity in the near future.
