This hotel is starkly designed with many luxury details. Cosmetics are good, mini bar is outrageously expensive. A bottle of plain water is $ 10. On the other hand, if you forgot your flip-flops, they are available in the mini bar for $ 20. Go figure. In room wi-fi is erratic. Breakfast is a relative bargain.
Location is good for exploring South Beach, but may need cab transportation. The pool area is wonderful, as it faces west and enjoys afternoon sun. Accommodations and the ambiance are prime. Staff is friendly and accommodating, especially Enrique, the concierge.

We had a 4 night stay, one bedroom, one bath. Check in was ok, the lobby is non-functional with two seats and a concierge who is hardly present. The pool area is pleasant to look at, the service is filled with pretentious young 20 somethings with attitude and without interest. They walk around at snail pace with sun glasses on not looking at any of the clients. The menu would be useful at a Chilis not at a 4-5 star hotel/condo. The rooms are designed to be art deco, but lost in the 1990s. The rooms are disgusting in terms of cleanliness, blood on the curtain, broken phone, light bulbs blown out, food on the floor,hair in the tub. Come on really at that price? Calls to the front desk answered as if they are having a tooth extracted. Response, slow, the hallways dark and carpet needs to be redone. The "kitchen" would be a kitchen in a subsaharan shack, a fridge that can hold college kid beer only, a "stove top" with two burners, a sink, a microwave buried inside a cabinet on the ground. The person we rented from, HG, although apologetic was unable to 1. change the lightbulb 2. send a cleaning person at a time besides 330pm when we were sleeping, 3. Fix the phone. Apologies do not help what could have been a nice relaxing trip. On top of this the "pullout" couch had a mattress thinner than most of the waitresses outside and a frame angled for sleeping at 45 degrees...Very sad. I travel 90-100 days a year and this one takes the cake for 2012.

Was looking forward to our stay here but was a little let down. Overall the design aspect of this hotel is great, the maintenance however needs to be stepped up. The room, though large and well equipped, was a little tired. Annoyed that the wifi wasn't free considering the room rate and frustrated that there was no option to self park, valet at $36 a night only way to go. The saving grace of this place is the pool, amazing setting and view.

But really cold air conditioning and expensive bill ($16 + tax for a glass of house wine; we had 4 of them; should have ordered the bottle). Free Wifi in the lobby. Valet parking is $15 after validating your ticket when paying
