I had booked a romantic getaway for 2 days with my wife during President's day. I had booked through SPG with my rewards points as I am a gold member and hotel is very expensive to stay without using points. When we did arrive there was an issue with room. Chris one of the hotel customer service specialists took me aside and let me know that the hotel was fully booked and he would rectify the situation by giving me 2 nights worth of rewards point back to my account, a stay at the shoreclub hotel for 1 night, $100 credit and an ocean front room for the next night at the hotel. I was disappointed at first, but was happy with the end result.
The hotel is very trendy and chic. The amount of eye candy in the lobby of the hotel is jaw dropping. My wife and I sat in the lobby staring at the beautiful folks for an 1 hour. The rooms are amazing and the ocean front room was breath taking. The beds are very soft and comfortable. The gym is amazing as well with a view of collins avenue. The pool is very cool as well. Their private beach is amazing as well. The location is a little bit of a walk to the main drag of south beach, but the walk is pleasent. I would also recommend the restaurant, "The Dutch" for breakfast . It is quite expensive , but the quality of the food is amazing. We discovered a new type of butter that we found to be the best, Vermont creamery that they were using.
The hotel is quite expensive. The service can be a bit aloof at times. The issue we encountered. I also had to follow up for a month to get the points credited to my account by sending an email to the manager.
I was very happy with the stay and would stay again on points. Highly recommended if you can afford it.
Choose a room on a higher floor facing the ocean.
