It's a very nice place to stay, a very good choice: not expensive, located in a good position (near Lindol Road, Spanish Way, not far to Ocean Drive), cleaned (the housekeeping service is twice a day, in the morning and in the evening!) , very quiet, staff very nice and efficient.
The room we staid (the cheapest one) was not too big (expecially the bathroom too smal!!) but with air conditioning, tv.
The small garden where the guests can have breakfast or just read a journal or relax is very nice!
For us Cadet Hotel is a "small diamond in Miami Beach"!!!

What a great stay we had at The Cadet! If you would like to stay at a boutique style Art Deco hotel, this one is the quinessential Miami Beach experience. It is one block from the beach, two blocks from Lincoln road (a pedestrian road with gobs of stores and restaurants), yet the hotel was unbeliveably quiet. It's very charming, and the rooms have all been renovated. The details also made it a great stay: fresh strawberries and chocolate in the rooms upon arrival, bath salts, and clean white bedding. The beds were comfortable, and the blackout behind the drapes made it easy to sleep. In addition, the staff were the most accomodating group of people you could imagine, and sincerely went above and beyond at any request (even offered to go down the street to pick something up for us!). We are planning on going back to Miami Beach in a few months and will surely stay there again.

I stayed at the Cadet in May 2008 while in town for a few days. Like many of you, I spent a lot of time researching hotels in Miami and was shocked at the prices! I decided to give the Cadet a try, given all the positive ratings here.

The hotel itself is nice: tasteful decor, and polite (if not effusive) staff. The location is great - just 1-2 blocks from the main thoroughfares, and walkable just about everywhere.

Just keep in mind that this is Miami, and the rooms are small. This is standard for most of the older hotels in Miami Beach. If you expect to do a lot of lounging in your room, then I wouldn't recommend this place. But if you just need a comfortable, clean place to spend the night, Cadet does the trick.

Also, I booked directly with the hotel by calling them. I looked on different websites, which suggested that the hotel was full on the nights we were going to be there. But when I called, they had rooms available.

Great location. Close to everything. Best price/value. Comfortable and well appointed rooms. Management and staff extremely helpful and attentive to customers needs.
