We found the Cadet Hotel by accident and found it to be just as charming as can be. We stayed there two nights before taking a cruise out of Miami. The staff could not have been more friendly and very helpful. The hotel room and grounds were very neat and clean. The hotel is in a perfect location. I looked at the traveler pictures and can not believe those pictures are of the same hotel. I would stay at the Cadet again.

Close to the beach, this little hotel has the right location and everything else is just top.
The bathroom was small but very clean and the towels were replaced 2x per day. Cosy garden where breakfast is served. Parking is expensive, but it's Miami.
Really one of the best hotels we had on our whole month across USA.

I liked this place as soon as I arrived, definitely a refreshing change from the usual formulaic Marriotts of this world (even if they do have fancy "Art Decco" decorations. Comfortable, clean, great location a 5 min walk from the beach and the staff were exactly as you would want - polite and efficient (of course nothing went wrong so I can't comment on how they deal with issues!). The hotel itself is well renovated with a nice patio breakfast area (on the street, but behind a hedge) and the room and bed were excellent. The view isn't great, but its a small hotel off the main drag - what do you expect?

Will use again if I am back down this way....

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the hotel and found it to be so close to the beach and shopping and so nice. Based on the price, we didn't know what to expect. The rooms were small, but very nice and clean. The entire hotel is maintained and has such a boutique feel, it was quite cozy.
The only negative thing I can say is that the staff were so strange. I felt as though we were staying with the "Adams Family". They rarely smiled, were not friendly or welcoming and at one point we were even sternly told to not put our feet up on the outdoor couch. As though we were children being reprimanded. It was so odd.
If you could take the staff and exchange them for genuinely friendly people who smile and greet you when you come and go, then this hotel would be IDEAL! It has the makings of being great with just some minor tweaking, starting with some an axe:-)
For the price though, and the location- I'll be back!
