“Stayed during a wedding”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

We loved the small and charming hotel. The small outdoor breakfast place was a good start of the day. The host and hostess kept the room clean and nice, excellent gourmet restaurant. We got all the help we need, even translating a speech from English/Norwegian to Spanish. We find two fantastic restaurants just a few steps away from the hotel. We will for sure go back next visit.

Room Tip: Ask for the big rooms.

I wanted a one night stay close to the shopping of South Beach. The room and bathroom were tiny but clean and thoughtfully decorated. The little touches made it welcoming. Our room was against an alley and there were no noises at night or in the morning. The extras like glass bottles of Evan, fresh berries, chocolates and nice bathroom amenities were all appreciated. I especially liked the fine quality of the linens and duvee. I will stay here again and recommend it.

We spent one night here and had a very lovely small room. The furnishings and decorative style were lovely and we were greeted with a small bowl of delicious fresh fruit and two Hershey kisses in a box. Presentation was very nice. Breakfast was served (a la carte) on the terrace which is right next to a very busy, noisy intersection. I had a hard time falling asleep with the loud voices, laughing and car noise coming through our closed window and air conditioner sound. The grounds are pretty and well maintained. We had a hard time unloading the car because the one space allowed was occupied by another car. I liked the history and the style of the hotel, but if I were to stay in the area again, I would look elsewhere.

Perfect location for the festival without the inflated rates. Every other hotel on the beach doubled or tripled their rates for this weekend except the Cadet. The Cadet Hotel is a Gem of a place. Stayed here 4 times in the past 4 years.

Room Tip: There is no parking or Valet. There are 2 parking garages within 3 blocks.

We booked this hotel for 2 nights after reading the reviews. We were given an upgrade and had a large, beautifully decorated room on the first floor. The hotel adds little touches - like a beach bag to carry towels. Breakfast on the porch was lovely, and reasonably priced. Internet is free. I would certainly recommend this hotel to others.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking your time to review us.

We are very content to hear you appreciate all the little details we provide for our guest.
We served the breakfast in our garden to provide the guest from an escape to the everyday South Beach noisy life and enjoy tranquility in a garden surrounded with wild flowers and a myriad of colorful blooms.

It was a pleasure to have you stay with us.

This hotel has pretty small rooms, but adequate for one or two nights. It hides an excellent restaurant run by French MaitreD Patrick. This restaurant gave us a very warm welcome after 15-hours travel from Europe and served us exactly what we wanted. Breakfast is good but only outdoors so can be noisy. However, a really short stroll brings you to the beach - or to Lincolns avenue. So, in short - this is a good place to stay for one or two nights and discover Miami beach, e.g. just before a cruise. Enjoy!

Dear Guest,

We highly appreciate your time to review us!

It’s always a pleasure to hear our guest had the opportunity to dine in our facilities. Here at Pied a Terre we strive to offer our guest a dining experience different from any other restaurant in South Beach.

We apologize if the outdoor area was noisy; it is something that is beyond our control.

We hope to see you back soon!

Room - Small. Dorm like but clean. Tiny tv. Furniture that really does not match the room size (too large). Bathroom ultra small. Not enough toiletries or towels. HVAC set based upon season; either on or off. Heat or AC.

Staff - Super friendly and remembered me by name. They make the stay great.

Location - 2.5 blocks from beach and mayhem. Nice place to escape. 1/2 block from from Delano.

Overall - Paid $359. Reasonable because cheaper gets you a crappy hotel in same area or nicer hotel far away. You will pay $450 for the hotel you really want in the same location.

Bottom line - The only time we spent in the room was sleeping. There was no need to pay more. The $359 guaranteed a clean adequate room close to the classier section of south beach.

Thank you for staying with us and taking your time to review us.

We apologize if the room was too small for your taste. We do offer a variety of rooms’ sizes; perhaps, during your next visit you can stay in one of our Superior Rooms or Junior Suites which are more commodious.
