“Awesome Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights and it was an overall great experience! Very spacious, clean, nice decor, and comfortable rooms.

The first day we saw our room we didn't like our room location on the first floor right next to the laundry and front desk. We asked to be moved to the 2nd floor and the receptionist (Kadiya) working that day was very unpleasant and told us there was nothing available and refused to help. Later on that night the shifts changed and we asked the receptionist Alvaro. Alvaro was super nice, friendly, and kind and tried every way to get us moved. He told us he couldn't move us that night but said he would write a note in the book for the manager Leo to move us in the morning. The next day we went to Leo and he moved us right away to the 2nd floor. Both of them were exceptionally nice and accommodating!

Complimentary breakfast was good. It had bagels, croissants, toast, juice, milk, muffins and fruit. They had beach chairs and towels. The location is great, 5min walk to the beach, the area isn't noisy at night and the beds are comfortable. The only downfall of this hotel is Kadiya the receptionist, parking is $20 a day, and there is no pool area. Other than that we would certainly stay again! Give it a try! You won't be let down!

We stayed at this hotel during Memorial Weekend this year.

The Hotel is located along Collins Avenue, within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, bus stops etc - central location.

We had a double room which was really spacious, with kitchen, wardrobe, two queen beds etc which was good. The room was clean and what we need as a based to be out and about.

The down sides of the hotel:
1) breakfast - absolutely ridiculous to even offer the slices of bread and non-fresh juices as breakfast. That is literally all there is, waste of time.
2) Really dimly lit rooms, there are not many lights and therefore doing make up etc outside of the bathroom was impossble
3) Loud air con that would kick start in the early hours of the morning
4) Invasion of termites one night when we switched off the aircon, so when we woke up they were all over the bed closest to the window and the net curtains - horrible! They were in the bed and everything and we went and told staff and asked the cleaner to change the bedding. I don't know what she did, because when we checked the sheet on the bed and the skirt there were dead termites on it so we complained to the front desk.
5) Cleaner hoovering in the corridor at 9am in the morning!!!
6) No full length mirror in the room, which for a pair of women was hard work!
7) Terrible wifi. Could not get it in the room at all, so had to keep coming to reception to access it. They said there was a problem with it, but not really acceptable I don't think in 2014.

The reception staff however were delightful and I wish I could remember their names, I think one was called Patty, then there's a guy and one lady (she is originally from Africa). They were fabulous and knowledgeable, helpful and friendly at all times. There is one guy on the desk that is soooo miserable though - not a great first impression for those walking in, but oh well you can't have it all right.

Anyway, it's really easy to get out and about from here and you can get the bus to Downtown Miami and the shopping centre fairly easily. You can also get the bus to the airport really cheaply from the next road.

Hello
3 nights in mid-July at the Nassau Hotel.
Just steps from Ocean Drive. Super nice to go swimming in the morning at the beach. The hotel provided towels and chairs.
The rooms are really spacious studios (we were 2 adults + 2 children). It's very clean. If you want quiet, choose the studios at the end of the corridor, more than those facing the street.
Simple breakfast at will. It's very good and included in the price.
Parking is $ 20 / night. It's very convenient to have the car parked next door because not easy to find a place in the neighborhood.
A very, very big thank you to the receptionist, Patty. Very welcoming and professional. Our rental car was broken and she took a long time to call for service (we are french and our english skill was not enough for this special situation). She even served as a Spanish-English translator, with the driver of the tow truck who spoke only Spanish. Without Patty, it would have been very difficult.

Room Tip: If you want quiet, choose the studios at the end of the corridor, more than those facing the street.

Stayed in mid June 2014 with my family. I would certainly recommend this all suite hotel to everyone who is looking for a nice, affordable, clean and close to everything place in famously pricey South Beach. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will return.

The Nassau is a boutique hotel conveniently located just a block away from South Beach.

For the most part we enjoyed our stay, however there were a few quirks.

My partner and I found our first floor room to be tastefully decorated, with hardwood floors, a plum paint scheme and nice fittings in the kitchen and wash areas. Due to the age of the building the renovations are really only on face value - that is to say that the tiny, tiny bathroom has been updated, but the layout has not been changed rendering the space highly unpractical. You will need to manoeuvre around the door and toilet to get into the bath, and if you have children the fixed glass divider will make turning the water on and off nearly impossible without getting wet. Also, the wash basin is outside the bathroom and isn't well lit.

My family stayed in a room up on the third floor, and though classed as a "suite", was no where near as nicely decorated (tiles instead of hardwood floors, etc), and in fact was identical to the King Room bar an actual door to the bed and an additional sofa.

This said, the rooms were very comfortable and clean, the only exception being that the walls around the separate wash basin are splattered with toothpaste and dirt from splashes that haven't been wiped down in quite some time.

My tip would be to book a room on a higher floor away from the elevator, which is quite ancient and loud, or risk being placed in a room close to reception on the ground floor where you can hear every whisper echo down the hardwood hallway. Our room was the very furthest one from reception, and we could still hear the service staff talking in what seemed to be unnecessarily loud voices all the way down the hall.

As for breakfast, I'd advise to skip it for one of the lovely cafés in easy walking distance, as the communal dining table of plain bread and orange juice was extremely unappetising, as was learning we would be eating it from styrofoam plates and cups.

There is a gated on-site car park, but the charge is a whopping $20 per night, so when looking at other hotels one should take this into consideration.

All in all, a comfortable and generally clean room in a great location. They give towels and beach chairs free of charge for your enjoyment at the beach, and the service is good. Considering the price of The Nassau, it isn't bad value, but I would probably look at other options for a return trip.

I was down in Miami for Memorial Day weekend with my friends and the whole trip was going to be ruined because of the maximum capacity for the rooms but Leo went out of his way and found me another room that ended up making out trip possible.

Went with my husband in May'14. Our room was upgraded so we got a bigger room which we paid for (we got a promo price on hotel.com).
Some positive points:
- superb location: between main attractions Ocean drive, Lyncoln road & Espagnola way.
- very friendly & helpful stuff: several times helped us with some small issues.
- big room (our was an upgraded version): decent size bedroom with big walk in closet, living with sitting area & dining area, full equipped kitchen (including coffee maker but no boiler for tea)
- very clean: room service every day, also cleaned the floor. Apart from the windows which needed a good cleaning.
- continental breakfast included in the price (but we never used): muffins, croissants, juice, apples & bananas, coffee, tea.
- there's a small gym (did not use)

Some negative aspects:
- Mainly the hotel needs a renovation. There were some cracks on the walls & floors. If renovated, could be a real jewel.
- Noise: the location is very central to everything but you pay the price by having a lot of noise (this is not the hotel's fault of course).
- The windows need to be replaced (can hear everything what is going on on the street) & cleaned.
In general very good experience. Can recommend it if you don't mind it not being new & modern & if you don't mind the noise.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the front. You will not get a good view but at least will be able to sleep...
