“Good location, mediocre hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013 via mobile

This is definitely a mixed review, because this hotel actually has some really nice features. I love that the rooms are a comfortable size with fully equipped kitchen, modern decor, beatiful hardwood floors! and the hotel is really clean and neat. But there are some things that this hotel should upgrade being that it is an expensive South beach hotel.. lets start with broken ipod dock which to me I feel like if you're gonna have it in the room it should be working. It was never fixed. The television was outdated and had few channels. Plus we were a little hard pressed to get some extra linens from front desk staff. I also would have appreciated more assistance with finding worthwhile restaurants close to the hotel rather than sifting through the many places in the area. Overall I liked the hotel during my stay, but in the future would probably try another Sobe hotel for a different experience.

Hi thanks for your comments. We are pleased to hear you liked some aspects and services of our hotel. Regarding cable tv : there are 99 channels, we have now also flat screen tvs in all rooms. The ipod docks in entertainment centers are being checked to make sure they are all in working order. I am letting also our housekeeper know about your comments regarding linen. We are addressing all this issues so that you will have a more pleasant and happy experience next time with us.

Hotel was ok. Space was huge and we loved having a fridge in the place. Table was great for just hanging out, but the tv was in an awkward place. (Bedroom instead of in the living area). It was awkward because we had 4 people and couldn't relax on the couch to watch. Bathroom had a roach that crawled out of the bathroom drain, 2 inches long. We told the front desk and they reimbursed us part of our stay (we were there for a week and this happened on the first day). We left the drain closed when not in use afterwards. Location was excellent so we didn't spend that much time in the hotel anyway. Bed was decent but they ran out of bedsheets apparently (full house) and our friends that stayed on the futon didn't have sheets to sleep with.

Room Tip: No room service. Breakfast was continental but the apples taste good!

We were two couples looking for last minute accommodation in the first week of January 2013. Availability in South Beach generally was an issue that weekend and we had had bad experiences at other hotels in the past, but we took the plunge and booked one of the last remaining rooms at Nassau Suites.

What a pleasant surprise when we arrived! Friendly and efficient staff, smooth check-in, huge studio with two queen beds, kitchen, new bathroom and plenty of storage, great housekeeping, free wifi, small but perfectly adequate gym, movie theatre (which we didn't use), convenient parking on site (at extra cost) and the best location we've ever had in South Beach.

The only reasons it's a Very Good and not an Excellent are (i) the poor breakfast in the lobby (though there are countless breakfast places nearby), and (ii) the high cost of in-room water and snacks.

The room was newer and cleaner than the outside suggested it might be. Unfortunately, we were not given the room we reserved and the hotel was full, so there was no opportunity to switch. We were 3 people and only given a king bed, though it was supposed to be a room with a sofa bed. A roll away bed was given to us, but that was extremely uncomfortable (puting the mattress on the floor made it better). Nonetheless, they were very apologetic and accomodating as best they could be. Although it would have been better had they not charged us for a room at all, they did discount both nights we were there. Overall, the staff was very friendly and helpful, despite their screw-up. Free parking is a huge bonus too!

We stayed for 20 days and they were very good in every aspect: the staff was very kind and nice, the room clean and comfortable (just the traffic along the road is a bit annoying, but part of Miami folklore...), the location is excellent.
Lilly at the front desk is a very kind person, and her smile is always bright as the sun in Miami!

We were two couples looking for a room with two queen beds at a good price, near the beach and restaurants, in a safe area.

I scoured internet sites looking for a hotel that fit our needs for weeks. Finally, I nervously booked the Nassau Suite Hotel. I was uneasy about the hotel because there have been a number of mentions on television and in travel magazines about the poorly kept hotels in Miami Beach.

When we arrived, the lobby looked o.k. and checkin went smoothly. The desk clerk was helpful and welcoming. I had read a review that mentioned the tiny elevator. It was the smallest I had seen. It is marked "2 Person Maximum." Three normal sized persons could use it. The weight maximum is 1,000 pounds.

The hotel is clean. Our room had the two queen beds. The mattresses are not the "heavenly" type. The pillows are o.k. and there are lots of them. Towels were usuable, nothing special.

The reservations were made so far in advance that I had forgotten the room was a kitchenette. There was a full-size refrigerator and stove, with a few pots, pans and dishes for four. We were on vacation and had no interest in cooking.

The bathroom had been renovated at some point in recent years. The vanity was glass with a cute round sink and faucet. The tub was probably the original. I asked at the desk when the hotel was built and was told 1923. The tub was a bit of a challenge for either a shower or a bath. They have installed a glass panel from tub to ceiling that makes it impossible to turn the water on or off without walking into the tub. The tub has a rounded bottom that makes it treacherous to turn around while showering. It's also slicker than makes you feel comfortable to move around in.

The room had a small couch and a chair. The couch was fairly comfortable. The chair was molded plastic and completely uncomfortable after two minutes. There were two bar chairs that were also molded plastic and equally uncomfortable.

The room had two closets. One was a walk-in and huge. The other was somewhat smaller with very convenient shelves. The closets were a big bonus.

The housecleaning staff did a good job. The hotel offered a continential breakfast of bagels and cream cheese, breads for toast, jellies, yogurt, muffins, apples, oranges, bananas, juices, coffee and tea. Nicely displayed.

If you're looking for a clean, fairly comfortable place to stay for less than $200/night, you might want to consider Nassau Suite Hotel.

A very good hotel right in the heart of the art deco area on 14th and Collins and only a couple of minutes walk from ocean drive and the beach with good links to the Miami Dade Transport system which was accesible from 14th/ Washington and loads of places to eat we found the 11th Street Diner to be good value ..Lilly on reception was very helpfull and friendly as were all the staff we came in contact with .Our first impression when we arrived by cab was O My God which was dispelled when we went up to our suite which was large and clean with a good size kitchenette and loads of space the only downside was the lighting in the room very dim.. The continental breakfast was basic toast bagels croissant fruit juice muffins but replenished frequently and fresh .Overall a good base to stay and if in Miami again would stay here again .
