“Nice, quiet and clean”

A block from the beach, customer service is great. Renovated hotel with free wifi. You can feel how quiet it is from the moment you he in. Clean rooms with flat Tvs and mini refrigerator for your drinks. Strongly recommend it for the price, book in advanced though.

I stayed here about a month ago for an anniversary weekend with my lovely girlfriend and I must say it was beyond a great experience. Although I'm a Miami local and live about 25 minutes away from the hotel, it was nice to "get away" and be within walking distance to the beach. The staff was beyond courteous, especially Romain. He did everything in his power to ensure that all of our expectations were being met and exceeded -- I highly recommend that he be given a raise, just saying. Upon checking in to the hotel, my girlfriend and I felt right at home. Also, there was a cancellation and we were automatically upgraded to a bigger suite (incredible plus). The room was very spacious and extremely clean. Lots of great places to eat near the hotel. Overall, an amazing experience for any local Miamian or out-of-towner. Highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed in the grand suite for 4 nights. It was clean, cozy, and felt very much like renting a European apartment. The Impala's short distance to the beach means that it's also centrally located to shopping (both brand names and individual artisans on the beach). The breakfast offered by the hotel provides a high quality bread basket and plain unsweetened yogurt with fruit for only $10. It was too much for us to finish.

The staff was more than happy to help us with reservations, information and advice for day excursions, and even provided sunscreen for us one day.

The bed was very comfortable and the suite provided a large couch that could have easily accommodated a small gathering, as well as a second-floor balcony that overlooks the street--ideal for people watching!

I would easily choose The Impala again over an impersonal, overpriced chain hotel. Part of the experience is where you stay, and you won't soon forget the Impala!

Room Tip: The Grand Suite is right on the street, so weekend revelries may keep extremely light sleepers up la...

I know the hotel has changed hands a few times since its high times 10 years or so ago, but ...
I was so disappointed in my visit this past weekend and unfortunately there was no management around to discuss this with.
Lets just say, I asked the concierge for a "nice" place to have a cup of coffee other than walking to Starbucks - was ... Wait for it "Walgreens". It used to be that you walked through the courtyard (now crazy with mosquitoes) into an orange scented quiet music filled space of "cool". Now, you walk in and it's flat. My room on the second floor looking out onto the coveted courtyard was sadly in disrepair. The doors that used to be glass are now solid core white and hence, cut off all light into the sitting area. The paint on most walls is scuffed and dented. The shower curtain rod droops. The towels had that crusty feeling that usually means they've been washed so many times and have lost that soft luxurious feeling. The shower water fixture(s) - though come with a small card as to how to use them ... Don't. When asked the concierge to have someone look into it - his response was "it works, read the card."
When asked of another concierge to get a taxi to a restaurant, he said that no one would take us as they only go the airport.
On a positive note, the sheets were nice. It just feels like no one is in charge anymore - and I suppose that now as most buildings are renovated and occupied by hotels - competition is tough. It must be difficult to keep your margins in hat environment. It's just sad that a once chic boutique secret and gem is now simply a holiday inn experience. No offense to holiday inn ...

I hate to write this review to share the secret of how spectacular this small gem of a hotel is. The decor of coral, wrought iron and mosaic is serene and beautiful. The staff is that of a small European hotel - attentive, charming and warm. Located a block off Ocean Drive, this hotel provides a quiet haven, in contrast to the bustle a block away.

This was the most wonderful surprise in Miami - such a beautiful, clean, friendly atmosphere. Everything about the place was perfect; ideal location, friendly staff, and a beautiful room for a very reasonable price. Will definitely stay here again!!!

My wife and I stayed overnight at the Impala after attending a Cubs-Marlins game, which the Cubbies won by the way!
The hotel is lovely and the room we had was beautifully furnished, including a great walk-in shower.
The only disappointment is that the restaurant on the first floor was closed for renovation.
Actually that may have been a blessing in disguise, because the concierge recommended Havana 1957, which turned out to be a wonderful Cuban restaurant.
