“Wow! It is Paradiso!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2012

A two floor, small and cozy apartment-hotel. Located perfectly on Collins Ave. and a block away from Ocean's drive and the beach. Rooms are very clean, huge with a kitchenette and a dining area, very nicely furnished and always had this gorgeous scent. Pathway to the rooms is "tropical-like" with comfy seats, tables and nice umbrellas. We stayed in room 6, on the ground floor and it was quite (however we didn't stay on a weekend, so can't really judge). Towels are provided to take to the beach. There is a supermarket and a laundry store right around the corner. Also the bus stop is only two blocks away. One of the very nice gestures is the free (and fast) WiFi.

Staff is very friendly, I would like to thank Marysia from Poland and Sole from Uruguay for being very friendly and helpful.

This sweet little hotel is an oasis, but it's just steps away from all that goes on on Collins Avenue. People literally stop at the entranceway to peer down the lush, tropical alleyway that leads guests to their rooms. Our room was surprisingly large, with a huge closet, eat-in area, kitchen, etc. and had comfortable beds and a chaise lounge. One night some inebriated people were standing 3 feet from our door at 4am making lots of noise, but once I asked them to leave, all was relatively quiet again. Because there are wonderful tables with umbrellas a few feet from the front of the first floor rooms, it can invite loud guests at all hours, I suppose. That was the only negative point of this wonderful hotel. I would definitely stay here again. We had to park a couple of blocks away, paying $16 for 24 hours. That's about as good as you'll find in these parts. I recommend dropping your bags off at the door and then going to park the car. We were in room 9.

This property is old converted apartments. We had the upstairs room at the very back and it was wonderfully quiet. Two rooms, with a bed in each, and a kitchenette in the second. The kitchenette had plates, glasses, cutlery, a toaster and pots and pans, so we ate in a couple of times. Nicely furnished, and very nice new beds. Being off season the rate was $99 a night, which was amazing value. The patio is as pictured; long and fairly narrow but very comfortable, with nice tables and chairs. Evening staff was very friendly and chatty and gave us excellent suggestions for grocery stores, etc.

My only caveat is about parking. There is a loading only space directly in front of the hotel so you can conveniently load and unload your luggage. But the hotel has no parking at all. Street parking, when you can find it, is a 10 hour limit and $1.75 an hour. Your best bet is a city parking lot 1 1/2 blocks south which is $1.00 an hour or $20 for more than 15 hours. It's a slight hassle but shouldn't deter you from this great value.

Room Tip: Rooms towards the back are quieter.

Villa Paradiso was perfect for our 5 nights in Miami Beach. What we loved most was the space of the one bedroom studio. The separate kitchen and meals area meant we could self-cater some of the time and it gave us plenty of space to spread out. The location is equally great, close to the Espanole Way restaurants and the Lincoln Road mall and just one street back from the beach. There's a self service laundromat on Washington between 5th and 6th street which is an easy walk if you want to do your own washing. There's also a small supermarket just around the corner where you can pick up anything you need to self-cater (Art Deco Supermarket) near the corner of Washington and 14th. In addition to the supermarket there is a bottle shop, the aptly named "Liquored Up" just a few doors down towards 15th Street. Whilst there isn't a pool on the property, it is surrounded by lush gardens and the seats just outside the rooms are perfect for an afternoon beer after a day at the beach. All in all a great place to stay and well priced, only recommendation would be to get a room towards the back of the property (ie room 14, 15, 18, 19) to avoid the Collins Ave Street noise especially if staying on a Friday or Saturday night.

I stayed here for 3 nights and slept well. The apartment was more space than I needed alone, and I appreciated the kitchen for some easy simple breakfasts. You can't ask for a more central location. There were not any frills, but great for a straightforward, quaint stay.

We where in Villa Paradiso in April 2012.
The room is very very nice, we was really surprise how big and clean it is.
Yes, there is a kitchen and a dinning area!
But probably the best thing is how close the hotel to every thing. just around the corner from the beach and few minutes from Lincoln Road shopping and restaurant.

Room Tip: we where in the lower level rooms (there is 2nd floor). i think its better..

We stayed in these "mini apartments" for 2 nights. Really lovely and exactly as described with enough space and all you need for a couple. The price and location was right too. The garden entrance was very inviting. The upper floor accommodation we had was quiet and they put my sister and brother in law in the opposite apartment which was thoughtful. The gate is locked at night and my sister and I got locked out - 2 pensioners with pizza's and no mobile phone that worked! Eventually our men realised we were missing and let us in. We loved Miami South Beach and our visit wasn't long enough. Have already recommended to some UK friends.
