Just returned from 5 night stay at the Tides. Good size room, plasma TV, housekeeping excellent. Room service good food. Nice quiet pool with attentive service & comfy sunbends. Staff all pleasant but the concierge/front desk staff not very knowledgeable.

We got a rate of $260/nt or so for this hotel (in the summer), and found it was a pretty good hotel for that price. I would not have wanted to pay the sometimes advertised $400/nt though. Starting with the the rooms, they were really nice and big and cool with wonderful beds. However the furniture was a bit run down. The view outside our window was also very nice. We did not eat in the restaurant at all, since the prices were kind of insane. Also, we never saw anyone in it! The hotel was very quiet, but we were there mid-week so that is probably to be expected in South Beach. The concierge service was EXCELLENT, and we used them every night to tell us the best spots. Although we spent a ton of money, we were never disappointed. The pool was kind of a bummer since it is bascially surrounded by concrete on all sides. Its a lovely pool though. Also, there was never anyone around to make a cocktail had we wanted one. Of course this is probably different in high season or on the weekends. We went down to the Shoreclub one night (Dinner at Nobu- Outstanding!!) and I was kind of missing the pool scene and cool-atmosphere. Seeing that my beach-body was not quite where I like it, I was glad for the tranquil, quiet Tides. (the nude beach is quite enough). All in all I'd stay here again, but next time I might try the Shoreclub just for a change of pace.

A gem amongst the flotsam and jetsam that has washed up on the shores of SouthBeach. Five minutes walk from the Delano and Mansion, the rooms are fantastic. Book directly with the hotel website - we got a King Bed with Ocean view for $260 ++. We only spent the 1 night but wished we had more time. I didnt realise that the Beach is actually a long concrete strip covered with some sand - quite odd really.

  • Liked — The rooms - decor, furnishing, etc.
  • Disliked — The pool is above a back alley , feels a little grubby.

Stayed in the tides on the weekend 14th-16th July 2006 and had a great experience in this beautiful hotel.

The room was large and was tastefully decorated in beige and white. All rooms overlook the beach as far as I'm aware - the lower rooms can be noisy but you're in the center of it all in South Beach. The pool area was fantastic and the pool attendant was great.

Staff in general were very friendly and helpful.

i stayed at the Tides June 2005, and am promted to write a review because i have just read the other reviews. i think that these people must have stayed at another Tides. i disagree with those reviews completely. i had a marvellous time, the room was enormous, very clean, bathroom also enormous with lovely products.. couldnt hear any traffic noise from my room. also had great view of the beach.
housekeeping attended every day and fulfilled any request that i left them. the pool is also great, and a lovely attendant, that could not do enoough for you, think she is named pat. free apples, free water, free papers. beach loungers, unberella and towels also provided at no extra cost. i did not have a problem with the staff found them all most helpful. i would highly recommend this hotel. one more thing the beds are divine, so comfy.. all white bedsheets, and chocolates left on the turn down every night..what more could any one ask.
