“A fantastic hotel - made even better by a free upgrade to the Amber suite !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

Stayed here during the weekend of 18th November 2012 whilst visiting Miami for the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Homestead.

The Suite was impeccably appointed with great views of the Beach from the Living Room, and from the Terrace views across Ocean View and back towards downtown Miami.

The room also benefits from two large TVs, Sonos Music system, and Vudu movie streaming facility.

Ultimate relaxation can be further achieved in the part sunken whirlpool bath which commands similar views over South Beach

All staff were very friendly and attentative.

I know there are a few negative comments with regards to noise from club next door.. Yes it is quite loud, but so is virtually every other hotel on Ocean Drive. Come 12am though it does goes quiet.

If you are coming to Ocean Drive for a quiet getaway type break any hotel will be the wrong one if you're in bed before 12am !!

Room Tip: Anything with a sea view will impress

We stayed here for 1 week from 26 October 2012 and had a fantastic holiday! The staff were professional and efficient as well as being really friendly and helpful especially the waitress Jenny and the restaurant manager. The food in the hotel restaurant was of high quality yet good value. Other reviews have commented on the noise in the bar next door but it did not keep us awake at all as it stopped soon after 11 pm, was very entertaining to watch and after all it is Ocean Drive!! The only down side was the pool area which is lovely but too small and shaded. The staff on the beach were great ( Nicky etc) and cant do enough for you. We will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: The ocean view rooms are spacious and luxurious.

We stayed at the Tides between 11 and 15 October. Service was fantastic. Had a couple of problems that were dealt with efficiently. There is a hint of luxury, but a total absence of pretension, about the hotel. We had a beach-facing room and the view was wonderful. The hotel pool offered a tranquil retreat from the bustle of South Beach. The food at the hotel was excellent and we cannot understand why the restaurant was not busier. The Drive Bar next door is noisy, but evening in South Beach is party time! My wife is a light sleeper, but had no difficulty sleeping, and the noise ceased promptly around 11pm while we were there. Other good restaurants and Starbuck's within easy reach. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ocean-facing and middle of the building are best. We had room 803.

We stayed 1 night in this hotel in the beginning of November 2012. The service upon arrival and during the stay was fantastic.
We got a huge corner suite with fantastic furnitures and art.
The room had an iphone charger/radio, dvd-player and TV.
Other amenities: Walkin-closet, big bathroom, sofa, workingtable and chair, minibar with good selection of drinks and snacks.
Price:318 dollar + room tax 41 dollar.

The hotel is situated next to the beach on Ocean drive with a lot of restaurants next door. Complimentary lounges and umbrella on the beach for hotel guests.

Breakfast is not included but coffee and croissants/jam is complimentary every morning in the reception.

Complaints: the hotel is situated next to a bar that is quite popular so there was quite much noise early evening/beginning of the night.
The hotel could also need some new wallpaper some places, in the room and hallway (water damages).

We spendt two weeks in this hotel, we had a great room overlooking the beach and ocean. The tub was a bit small, not fit for two people, but the bed was very good. The gym was small, but the pool was great! The food at this hotel is great, the breakfast especially!! Get the eggs benedicte and pancakes, YUM! But i breaksaft is not ink. in the room price. The hotels fixes everything for you, so just ask about trips, taxi and info, but the firealram went of one night and they had BIG truble to get it to stop... It went of in just our room and NO we did not smok inside... the 4 (!) time they came to look at it Iscreemed "just take it down" and then there was no more problem :) The bar next door is a gay-transvestit bar known for its dragshown, its so fabolous!! I highly recoment this place, but remember you $$$$, its not cheap.

Stay oct 24-27. This is a fantastic and beautifully appointed hotel but the bar on the street below played loud thumping live music until 11 (ok) and 1:30am (not ok!) on another of the 3 nights I stayed here. The only night there was no music was when Sandy was blowing too hard for anyone to be outside and on this night the noise from the wind howling (i know this was unusual!) was so loud it was also impossible to sleep. I know the hotel can't control the bars next door but maybe soundproof/noise reducing glass? I tried earplugs, iPod music, pillows on my head and sleeping pills, but the music was so penetrating that it came through all of the above. The staff were concerned when I advised the next day (after the 1:30 session) and said i should have called. however, on the first night it stopped just after 11 and as well, i figured it was so loud the front desk staff would have had to have heard this too and if it was not meant to be they would have asked for it to stop. I got a small amount off my bill but I would have so much preferred for my $2000 stay to get at least 1 decent nights sleep.
On a positive note, the food and room service was excellent and the staff lovely and very helpful.

Truly fantastic hotel with immaculately decorated, large rooms facing the ocean. Perfect escape from the noise and "vibe" of south beach.

Service has been fantastic and a great place to lounge and enjoy the world pass by particularly for lunch/brunch. The restaurant need a new menu and consistent servings and more choice but for a hotel that is in transition of ownership, it is doing remarkably well. With a new food/beverage manager, it will be a perfect vacation spot

Room Tip: Higher floors , corner rooms are the most spacious and have the best views. Having said that, all of...
