“Very Good Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Excellent location for vacations if you like South Beach area life and to be close to the beach. Since I've spent 7 days there with my wife the main issue I had was related to the lack of space to storage all our cloths- Not having drawers and a tiny closet - In spite of this problem the hotel clerks made all changes necessary to bring comfort to use moving to a larger suit room. Excellent service at any time, particularly remarkable were Juliana and Camilo.

Hello! I 1st stayed at this hotel a year ago(March 2012) and like the place so much that I decided to take my boyfriend here for his birthday this year April 2013. We arrived on Saturday night. Brad checked us in and was the nicest person. He was friendly, warm and inviting. He asked us about our trip and where we were from. He asked us if we were interested in upgrading to a king suite but because we were only staying for 2 nights we didn't think we needed to do it. He then looked into the computer and told us "To make your stay even more enjoyable and relaxing, I will upgrade you complimentary" It was the nicest gesture and made this birthday getaway amazing. We will definitely be back again soon and will book the suite for sure next time. Good work Brad and excellent representation of what real customer service is. We also enjoyed dinner at the new restaurant after we checked in although more vegetarian/vegan options would be nice. Overall good trip indeed!

Room Tip: The separate Suites are definitely worth it! And fun live music that you can dance to on saturday ni...

Stayed here with a friend in November 2012.

The hotel is in a very good location in Miami beach. We were greeted by Austin and Brad who were fantastic in helping us settle in and also answer any questions we had.

The rooms were very spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel is linked with the Clevelander Hotel which is behind it and is a good option for evening entertainment and drinks etc as it is quite popular and there is a good atmosphere in the evenings.

If I was to visit Miami Beach again I would have no issues about booking this hotel again.

My girlfriends and I were so happy with the Essex House! The hotel was so cute, very clean and the staff was so friendly! We loved the little details such as how they delivered a bottle of wine and chocolate covered oreos to our room one evening, had the free happy hour, and how the cleaning staff lined up all of our shoes in a row. Also, the location is perfect! The hotel is a block away from all of the South Beach action and is within steps from the beach and boardwalk. The Essex has a small quiet relaxing pool (part sun/part shaded) that was nice to relax at if you want some quiet time or you could walk around the corner to the Clevelander (so fun!) I definitely will be going back!

I loved the location and the Zen Sai restaurant. J Jordan was one of the nicest hotel clerks that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He helped us with information about places to go , shop, and eat. The happy hour and complimentary breakfast were great. It was very clean and extremely quiet for the area we were in. I would recommend it highly and will stay there next time we are in the area!

The location is perfect. The staff are wonderful. I especially loved the bartenders and wait staff at their restaurant Zen Sai. Zen Sai has to be one of the best hidden gems in South Beach. They had a great complimentary happy hour and continental breakfast at the hotel. Cannot wait to go back!

I stayed at the Essex for 4 nights and it was excellent. The staff is very helpful. Nice complimentary happy hour (beer/wine/sushi) daily and continental breakfast of fruit, croissants, coffee etc every morning. Rooms are small but comfortable. My only complaint would be the bathrooms. They are VERY small and in need of upgrades.

Essex House is quiet and relaxing but offers you free access to the Clevelander next door which is loud and lots of fun if you want to drink, dance, grab a pizza, or enjoy the rooftop deck. I would reccomend this hotel and will certainly stay again.
