“VISIT ONLY IF YOU EXPECT TO RUN INTO TONY MONTANA...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

The perfect tourist trap, ugly people, bad restaurants, noisy... there is nothing glamourous or interesting here, maybe the Versace Mansion but thats it...

“Typical tourist beach area”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

I suppose you have to walk down Ocean Drive once in your life to say you've been there, but after that there is nothing to bring you back. The Art Deco hotels are beautiful and the parks along the ocean are unexpected. However, all Ocean Drive restaurant staff must work on commission because they are extremely rude and obnoxious trying to get you to eat at their particular restaurant. I only are at two but they appear to be all over priced. I recommend you walk on the other side of the street and just enjoy the views without stopping.

“Lots of fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

I stayed in this area, but even if you're not, you should make the trip out at least one day to this area. Located just off the beach and lined with outdoor restaurants/cafes/bars, this area is a lot of fun. Lots of happy hour specials, so if you spend the morning on the beach/Lummus Park, then decide to have lunch and a drink, you'll have a good time. Be warned: the food offered at most places is not exactly gourmet, and the hostesses are a little pushy about getting you to eat at their venue. You can easily just walk on the other side of the street to avoid them, which is better anyway because then you get a better view of the art deco architecture.

“Lots to see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

A busy street, both literally and visually, especially as night falls; palm trees decked in lights, restaurants, clubs, hotels, shops, light up as well. Check out the beach. The sand closer to the street has been packed down tight, so you can run/walk on firm terrain. Check out the Art Deco Museum/Store on the corner of 10th St. Unique gifts and fun stuff. I was only here for a one night business stay, but loved the array of restaurants and shops so accessible. Lots of live music (flamenco guitar in at least 3 places!) in the evenings.
