“excellent food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2014

i visited katana sushi because of tripadvisor, searching for best rated sushi restaurant with conveyor belt.
i was well prepared that it is not the fanciest restaurant at all. it's even a bit runned-down, but at entrance i heard the friendly japanese irashaimase from all of the working guys in chorus. food itself was great, probably one of the tastiest sushi experience i had in a long time.
the value what u get for the money is great. it's open till 1am

“Best mobile sushi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2014

We heard a lot about this restaurant and had the experience yesterday night. It was long to get a table for four but it worth the wait ! It was delicious. We had a beer while waiting for the table. The price are very low for Miami Beach. 4 dollars a beer. We has a lot of differents sushis, makis, and others japanese specialities. At the end, after a huge dinner, the bill was only 140 dollars tips included !

“By 2011 they had an Excellence Award...Now 2013 the Excellence is gone, the Award remains on the wall”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2013

After and hour waiting to be seated with my 10 year old son and a couple of friends, I saw quite favoritism in offering sittings to clients that came after us. When I commented that to the main waiter he said you don't like it....go home!! Very rude manners. He and other waitress attending the main room where jumping like monkeys to get everything done! Food was really fine and the only thing worthy to be sitting there. To pay we spent another half hour, and in the meantime we review our check...and guess what...we had counted and extra plate for $ 3.50. So be sure, to count the plates yourself. I guess the do this very offen, probably in the rush of their job. My advice to Katana Restaurant is, get another supervisor more friendly with no favoritisms, and one extra person to attend the room as well.

“Flies and Dust on top of Sushi Boats”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

Tonight was disappointing.

We came at opening and as soon as we sat down we were swatting FLIES away from the fish on the boat while sitting at the bar.

And more disturbing was the LAYER of DUST on the rope that is directly above the boats of fish that goes around the river. We didn't notice this until the end of our meal and quickly asked for the check and left with a pit in our stomach.

Attached find the pictures of the dust / dirt right on top of fish. A gust of wind and it's on the dish.

I'm upset because we frequented this restaurant and now we are never going back.

“sushilicius!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

Floating Wooden boats on a conveyor belt sailing around filled with delicious sushi as the chef prepares it right in front of your eyes. Each plate had a different price and as you stack them, that is your bill. By all means this is not a fine dining experience, definitely a local spot, always a wait since is very good. Perfect for a casual night with friends and good food.
