We stayed the weekend of May 16-19. I've been to South Beach once before and loved it. We wanted to stay close to the beach and the action, without spending an arm and a leg. If you are looking for a place to sleep and shower, then this is the place for you.

Hotels further away from the 8th and Ocean area started at $150 per night, but this place cost like $100 per night. We couldn't resist.

I have to admit it was a good place to stumble home to from all the nightlife. At night while sleeping, we couldn't hear the noise that other guests were complaining about. The hotel staff at the front desk was nice until the day we needed to check out. I had asked if we could have a late checkout and the guy at the front desk said it was ok, but by 11am they called our room and asked us to leave or they'll charge us with an extra's day stay. They even stopped the keys (thank goodness someone was in there otherwise our stuff would have been locked in).

In the previous review, a guest complained about chips in the furniture and burn marks on the floor. IT'S TRUE! I have pictures and will upload for you to see. The towels were worn out and I wouldn't think to walk around the room or shower without flip-flops.

For the most part, this room did exactly what we needed it for: a place to sleep and shower.

We did not see any insects.

The place is a dump - it's only plus is that it's located on Ocean Drive.
- Management did not stop noisy occupants
- Garbage was on the hallway floor
- Garbage dumpster outside of hotel room (woke up by trashmen)
- Front desk personnel busy surfing the internet instead of giving eye contact when addressing customers
- Cracking & peeling caulk in bathroom
- Filthy/stained/burned carpet
- Outdated, chipped and worn furnishings

I read alot of reviews and i was scared to book here.But I booked anyway I must say it was a great stay.Its in the middle of everything and right across from the beach .Yes the room was small and the bed was a little hard but other than that I have nothing bad to say and I will stay again if i visit the area again.If you are high maintenance then this is not the place for you but if you are looking for something reasonble and close to everything then this is the place for you.The room and bathroom were clean which was all that mattered to me.And the staff was really nice the lady at the front desk even printed out my boarding pass.Give the Boulevard a try you wont be sorry I had a great time!!!!!!!

My best friend wanted to celebrate her birthday in South Beach. She decided to go with Boulevard Hotel because of the location. I had read several "not-so-great" reviews and was skeptical, but this is where she wanted to stay, so we booked it.
If you are considering location, then this is the spot to stay.... It is in the heart of South Beach and you really don't need a car if staying there. The concierge staff was pretty cool... They allowed us to do an early check in for one room (it was four rooms in total), but we at least had the chance to leave our stuff inside a room rather than right next to the elevator and directly in front of some cabinets the waiters used at the restaurant. Another thing that was bothersome at times was getting in to the hotel since you have to walk through the restaurant. So you either had a crowd in front trying to get a table or the hosts trying to get you one when all you want to do is go to your room.
The elevator is located at a vary bad spot. If the waiters or cooks need to get anything from those cabinets I mentioned before, there is no way to get in the elevator. But I guess since it is only 3 floors, you can take the stairs anytime other than checkin in/out.
The room I got was super small. My best friend paid extra for the suite and if I ever choose to stay there again, I will do the same. My room had barely any space to walk. One of the windows didn't close all the way so it defeated the purpose of the AC a little bit. As far as cleanliness goes, the corners by the night stands were filthy. I guess they don't spend much time cleaning around those areas.... The rest of the floor was pretty well kept and the carpet didn't smell.
There is one corner suite though, on the third floor, that has like 2 bedrooms and living room and it is phenomenal. To stay there would be awesome!
Overall, we had an OK time there. For the price and location, we couldn't complain too much because we really did stay at a prime location. Would I stay there again? Only if the suites are available.
