Owner description: Our professional airboat guides will take you on a personalized, educational airboat tour covering approximately 9 miles of this unique environment. We first go into the vast open saw grass where you will see why the Everglades are called the "River of Grass"! You will travel by Airboat through a Hardwood Hammock (a small island of solid ground in the "river of grass"), into the Everglades National Park stopping at alligator holes and seeing the abundance of 'glades wildlife. See the Purple Gallanule voted the most colorful bird in Florida and the endangered Everglade Snail Kite as well as herons, grackles, turtles, raccoons and other Everglades residents! The Everglades are a truly unique and vibrant environment which you can only experience first hand! Unless you brought your hip waders, a private airboat tour is the best way to see it! (And much drier, too!) After this fascinating and educational airboat tour, relax and enjoy a taste of 'Down Home' cooking, Everglades-style. The Coopertown Restaurant offers such delicacies as frog legs, 'gator tail, catfish and more! All served in a friendly country manner that is distinctly "Floridian". "Belly up" to the bar and meet the folks of Coopertown! Learn some of the fascinating history of the area, and check out the guest book to see who else has passed through and enjoyed a ride on a Coopertown Airboat! Take a closer look at these fascinating creatures in our Alligator Exhibit! What a cute little guy! Popular enough to have a college mascot named for it! A ride on an airboat is the best way to Check out the rest of the gator population in Coopertown

“Fantastic Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

We arrived without a booking and paid $20 each with a $2 off voucher from one of the tourist pamphlets. After a wait of about 40 mins, in which time we had a look around the animals at the back of the property we got in a boat with our tour guide Dan. Since no-one else had turned up we basically had a private tour. Dan was a great guide, telling us all about the Everyglades and stopping at the gator holes. We got to half a dozen gators in the water, and hold a 3 year old once we got back to the dock 45 mins later.

“Air Boat Tour with Josh”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Went to Coopertown Airboats after it was recommended by hotel staff, she said, "It doesn't look like much, but I had the time of my life there"!! And so did we! Had Josh for a tour guide through the Glades and saw alligators, had a sample of gator and frog legs for lunch! Josh was great tour guide, very friendly and informative, answered all of our questions!

“Nice excursion for appreciating nature”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

The building was not impressive, which led to some initial doubt, but the tour was very nice. We did a 1 1/2 hour private tour for a group of 5.

First of all, the airboat ride in the Everglades was beautiful on its own. In addition, our guide (Mike) was very knowledgeable about the plants and wildlife in the river, not just alligators. He went out of his way to add value to the tour. He knew where to find gators and we saw seven (including the one living by the boat docks). Two of them were 12 feet long or more. Our group was impressed when he "called" the gators and they came. He went to one spot and called for 3 gators (by name), seemingly to no avail. Then, a few minutes later, we saw all 3 gators swimming towards our boat. They had heard the call from hundreds of yards away!

After the airboat tour, we tried fried gator tail and frog legs in the restaurant. It was a little pricey, but an appropriate addition to the experience.

Definitely worth doing once.

“Great fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

The whole family loved this trip. Both guides, one who gave the talk at the beginning and the driver, where really funny and made the whole experience really enjoyable. The driver did some really good drifting until one party pooper on the boat complained he had an ear condition and asked him to stop. Why take an airboat ride if you don't like the speed?? The overall experience was brilliant and we highly recommend it. Oh, and we did see some aligators. Love to Gucci.

“Alley Gator, he is your friend!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

Overall a great experience and great value. $22 bucks for almost an hour of fun, learning, nature and best of all...alligators. Tour guides were great, safe drivers, loved the drifting guys! The zoo in the back was pretty cool and can't believe the tour guide got my wife to hold an alligator at the end of the tour. I thinks it's because he called it Gucci, she can't resist getting her hands on a Gucci...
