You want to eat great home made cuban food???? Tuto's Place is the place. Best BEST FLAN EVER... Best Pan Con Bistec, Bistec empanizado, ropa vieja, best frijoles (home made beans), in all...., best cuban food home made by mom you will ever eat. The portions are enormous, great atmosphere and CHEAP....If you want to experience good cuban food, i strongly suggest come to TUTO'S PLACE....you will definitely come back once you experience the food at TUTO'S PLACE.

“Country Music, Home grade Cuban flavor, and Small Town Feel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2011

This place is makes you feel like you transcended to s a small town in the countryside. You walk in and you would not have a clue how good the food is by the funny hillbilly bumper stickers plastered all over the wall and a huge wild boar head Tuti caught a while back...It is the typical place for local cubans to talk smack, enjoy a savory cuban dish like a Pan con Bistec or Pollo for lunch or a Bistec Empanizado which looks like a bed sheet of how big it is...we always have to share it! The rice & beans well just like my grandma's. Definitely a place for Bourdain to try...Versailles and Carreta have nothing on Tuto! They take only cash and it is truly a Mom & Pop place. Tuto is in his 80's and still working the place! Tuti is keeping it just as it is!

“Best traditional pan con bistec I've ever had”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2010

My parents are Cuban. I was born and raised here. My favorite Cuban sandwich is the pan con bistec (steak sandwich). Tuto's Place makes the best pan con bistec I've ever had (I hope my mom doesn't read this review, LOL). The Cuban bread is soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The palomilla steak is tender, not overcooked, full of flavor, and juicy when you bite into it. It also has lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and the pièce de résistance, the fried shoestring potato sticks. Just absolutely delicious, and filling as well. I also enjoyed un batido de mamey (mamey milkshake) and it was amazing. If you don't know what a mamey is, here's a link that can help.....http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-mamey.htm. The sandwich is big, quite often I take half home for later. The sandwich only costs $5.50. The milkshake was $2.50, which is what most restaurants charge now for a soda! I've also seen other dishes and the servings are immense, and the price is not expensive at all for the caliber of food you are getting. The restaurant is very small and seems to be owned by one Cuban family and they all work there. If you're coming in from out of town and you wanna see a real casual "mom and pop" Cuban place with great food, this is the place to go to. If you live in Miami and just want a find a good pan con bistec, this is the place for you. It has been in this neighborhood for years and most of the people that go there are regulars, I plan on becoming a regular soon!
