“Great Hotel, Location and A Real Miami Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

I stayed at the Mutiny for my wedding weekend. What's great about this hotel is that their rooms are more like apartments than just a hotel room. Full kitchen, True bedrooms and living rooms and myroom feature a balcony which was FABULOUS!! The view was amazing, being in Coconut Grove is so much fun and I'd definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Be careful which room you get. My friends got a room way in the back on the 2nd floor and it felt m...

Stayed here for more than a month, housekeeping barely picks up the towels and does the bed, they won't pick up garbage from the floor, ordered food at 9pm had to work the next day and they completely forgot, at 11pm we called and the kitchen was closed. Everything is so old, they have a casette device and a VHS, the mail just never arrives, you have to insist for weeks in order to get it. Service is the worst.

Dear Maria,

Thank you so much for your feedback. Your constructive criticism is valued, and it is one of the best ways for us to understand how we can enhance our guest experience in the future. We truly apologize that your experience with us did not meet or exceed all of your expectations. As you can see in the numerous other reviews, your experience is not typical at the Mutiny Hotel.

I would like to share with you that I have personally addressed each of your issues with the appropriate departments in an effort to make the necessary corrective measures to ensure that no future guest encounters the same experience.

Should your travels bring you back to the Coconut Grove area, I will be happy to personally handle your reservation at The Mutiny Hotel.

Warmest Regards,

We stayed at the Mutiny when we visited family for a wedding. We couldn't ask for a better stay. The room was not a typical hotel studio room. It was a one bedroom suite with a full kitchen, balcony and view of the pool and partial of the bay across the street. The staff was available on a moments notice when we needed help. The kids spent hours in pool and it had a small restaurant and bar but that was always available. The best part was the location. It's in the middle of a cute village of shops, restaurants and even a movie theatre. We had planned to take sight-seeing tours but ended up hanging at the hotel more. Thanks for the support Mutiny. We'll be back.

Very nice having a suite with full kitchen and separate bedroom and living room for a two night stay second weekend of Oct.13. I brought my mother along, so we could spend time with relatives and family friends that lives in South Florida, while I later enjoyed the night life in Coconut Grove all within walking distance of the hotel. The staff was very friendly, and quickly solved a problem I had with the sleeper couch after I advised them that it lacked adequate padding. They have a small restaurant, which we enjoyed having breakfast, but there are plenty of places to eat nearby. Plan to go back soon!

Room Tip: No balcony for suites set up for wheel chair access or elderly needing walk in showers.

Recently stayed October 2013, love the stay! It's like a modern upscale apartment converted to a hotel. Highlights: tile floors, living room area with nice decor couch, dining room table and flat screen tv, large king sized bedroom with comfy bed, bedroom connects to bathroom but also had additional entrance for guest, bade in the bathroom, flat screen tv in the bedroom, fully equipped kitchen with appliances( toaster, microwave, refrigerator with ice maker, plates and glasses, granite counter tops) iPad player and charger in the bedroom, washer an dryer (tho I don't think all units have this). Overall definitely worth the price!
Dislikes: balcony that faces a parking garage, $25 a night for valet( but there is a parking garbage walking distance and metered parking that works out cheaper if ur on a budget)
Didn't stay long enough to check out the pool, spa or hotel resturaunt but the room itself is worth the say

After six nights at the Mutiny, we left with fond but mixed feelings. Here is how it fared in our "most important in a hotel" checklist:

Sleep: all rooms are suites, and the bedroom, though small, was adequate and totally darkened by the blinds. Bed not large and a bit soft for my liking. Slept fairly well.

Wifi: fairly good connectivity, free of charge. Our of order for a few hours.

Bath: our suite (deluxe) had a shower over jacuzzi bath. Drawback: not enough hot water to fill it. Solution: fill about a third with hottest water, wait 15 minutes and fill it up. However, guests shouldn't have to seek solutions for hot water shortages, should they?

Breakfast: this is one reason for our 3-star decision. Espresso machine was reported broken all week long. 'American' coffee just about drinkable, omelets, granola etc. nothing to write home about, and steeply priced for the quality. Service a bit confused. Far better options available in neighboring restaurants, but being on a work trip we had no time for leisurely brunches.

Amenities: a nice small pool and pool area. Gym and sauna, alas, closed for renovations for quite a while yet. Isn't it time hotels mentioned such closures on their websites, and/or offered some compensation? Not here. Three stars, then.

Service: generally friendly.

Location: lovely setting across from the Coconut Grove beach, close to the CocoWalk area, numerous restaurants. Try Lulu and Bombay Darbar.

General "feel" - rather nice. Wish I could give it four stars.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony with some or full sea view .

Dear Nadavsmom,

Thank you for choosing to stay at The Mutiny Hotel while visiting the Miami area.

We appreciate your kind words and are delighted to hear that you had a memorable experience and were able to enjoy our hotel amenities.

I am saddened to read that you had difficulty filling the jacuzzi tub with hot water. I have addressed this with our maintenance team so that no other guest will have the same experience.

I am happy to read that you had a comfy and restful nights sleep and that the WIFI was strong and fast.

During your visit we were renovating our 24hr gym, prior to construction we had contracted with the neighboring fitness facility for 24hr access to their facilities. Passes were available at the Front Desk as denoted by our signage. Our Gym is now complete and available 24 hours a day. We look forward to your return so you may use all of the new equipment.

I am saddened to hear of your experience in the restaurant. It is unacceptable that you were not able to experience the Cuban Coffee that they make so well. The Machine has been fixed and I invite you to return and try it out. I have personally shared your comments with our restaurant team to address your concerns.

I am happy that you experienced great service by all of our staff. We take great pride in making each guest feel at home and like family while staying with us.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of any further assistance and we look forward to your return.

Warmest Wishes,

Greg A

Just returned from a wonderful getaway at the Mutiny. We had a 1 bedroom suite on the ninth floor with an amazing view of the marina and Biscayne Bay. Everything was clean and well-kept and we felt immediately welcomed by manager Jesus upon arrival. Hotel staff is kind and helpful and all our needs were met with a smile.

The location is perfect. You're within a 5 minute walk of 20 different restaurants in the chic CocoWalk shopping plaza. There is also a movie theater, park and marina in easy walking distance.

The onsite restaurant Atchana is thai-fusion but you can also get a burger or club sandwich if you are not adventurous. We enjoyed the food and had fun hanging out at the bar.

There is a small outdoor pool kept immaculately clean.

This hotel is chic and vibrant and makes for a fun urban vacation. We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton last time we were in town and I can honestly say I had a better time at The Mutiny. We will absolutely be back.

Room Tip: Higher rooms toward the front have the best balconies.
