“Great hotel, great location, with interesting history.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

Stayed for four nights in a one bedroom with balcony on the sixth floor. This one bedroom apartment was gorgeous! It was extremely spacious, huge bathroom with up to date fixtures, kitchen was a nice size with new appliances ( needs a few more items, like baking trays, dishes, etc) My kids really enjoyed this apartment, there were huge floor to ceiling windows with a view of the pool and peacock park. The pool is gorgeous, they loved it as well. There is also an on site Thai fusion restaurant, which also provides room service, heard many good reviews, but we didn't try it.
This hotel is situated in a good location, very close to "coco walk" which has endless restaurant and shopping options. It is also right opposite Peacock Park, which also has a Marina, great views, especially at Sunrise and Sunset. Peacock Park also has many happenings if you are there at the right time, 4th July fireworks, food trucks, food festivals, etc.
You can get a good rate if you call reservations and ask if there are any specials or applicable discounts, I know there is sometimes a special rate for Latin American customers, inquire it won't hurt to ask.
There is a $25.00 a night charge for valet, this is the only parking option at the hotel. Also there is parking at coco walk for $5.00 but its a five minute walk away.
Had one disappointment, we forgot a few items in the washing machine, when I called the next day, they seem to mysteriously disappear, lost my favorite linen pants, guess its my fault for leaving it behind.
Overall a great stay, would definitely stay again. Don't forget to research The Mutiny's History, it is quite interesting.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with a balcony that has a view of the marina.

Lovely people running this condo rental. Because it isn't a real hotel the rooms are spotty. First night we stayed in a room that looked like Motel 8 with terrible noise from adjacent garage a/c.
Room rate for that night was reduced from $300 to $100. Didn't sleep well that first night wondering if we could get a better room.

The next day we moved to the N side of the hotel to a room that had been updated. We liked having the little kitchen and the deck to sit on and watch the sun rise. This room too had a number of issues...which management said would be fixed. On check out after 5 days we learned that the fix would happen after we departed.

Pool area serves food but waiters are too busy chatting with bar tender to clean this or towels left behind up. I did so.

Don't try rinsing off at the pool side shower after being in the pool...it doesn't work at all. I'm sure they will fix it...but when.

This hotel reminds me of an old out of date Club Med...with Latin American efficiency.

We settled in...realized we weren't in the United States...but rather Latin America. To pay $200 for this...much less $300 or $400 on the weekends is a bit over the top.

Fresh Market, the high quality grocery store, is just a couple of blocks away, as is the retail district of Coconut Grove and a marina. It is a nice area and the location is clearly what keeps this hotel in business.

Room Tip: I have rated the rooms as poor...because they are so spotty in quality...decorated by owners. If you...

Dear CharlesWaldo,
I would like to first thank you for taking the time to review our hotel based on your recent stay with us. Positive or negative, feedback from our guests is vital for the training and growth of our hotel. During your stay, you and I spent time discussing your observations. Everything that you and I discussed had been made aware to all department heads and staff members. Sometimes it is not the action but the reaction and compensation that can make a guest stay turnaround from negative to positive. Our goal in our service recovery is to show our guests how much with sympathize with any shortcomings we might have had. The compensation that you stated in your review was not accurate. Please feel free to contact me personally so I may clarify what we have done for you on a property level to show you our sincerest empathy. Although some of the comments on your review are subjective or might be interpreted as offensive, the bottom line is we fell below your expectation and for that we truly apologize. On a more positive note, we thank you for highlighting the positives of you stay like the personal and location of our hotel. We hope you give us a chance in the future so you may see how your feedback has been put into action. We again, thank you for taking the time to review our property and hope to see you again in the future.

We stayed here for two PMs in mid March 2013 for ~$300/pm rate. The suite was enormous--bedroom, walk in closet, spacious bathroom, little entertaining area and balcony (ask for a room with a balcony and bay view!!) The sunrise from the balcony was amazing (well, would have been if we got out of bed..) and the view was great. The room also had a little kitchenette and machine to make coffee, if you want. We didn't spend much time in the room because were out and about most of the weekend, but it was nice to have the space to come back to and invite friends over. PArking is $25/pm, which seemed quite reasonable, especially since there is unlimited in/out. The hotel itself was very clean, modern, and a very pleasant place to stay.

The staff here was wondeful too--I would come back just for this alone. Someone overlooked our room and as a result the room was never turned over. When I mentioned this to the manager, he was very concerned and this was reflected on our final bill. It was a nice gesture and certainly appreciated. I would stay here again without reservation and hope to get the chance!

Dear karenrobbins,
Right off the bat, we would have to say that a reason to come back is to catch that majestic sunrise you missed during your stay. Thank you so much for taking the time to write such nice things about The Mutiny hotel. Mid-March is right in the middle of high season. Making sure our guests find value in our product and services is a high priority of our team. I am glad you noticed that our $25/day parking charge was reasonable compared to our competitors. It seems that we had a bit of a communication issue with the housekeeping department. Our staff is trained to understand that sometimes the result is more important than the cause. I am glad we were able to make a wrong to a right in this case. Reservation or not, you and your party are more than welcome to stay with us in the future. Understanding and educated travelers like you make the job that we do everyday very fulfilling. Thank you again and see you soon!

My husband and son and I stayed at the mutiny for four days and would love to return. Whoever hires the staff there is a genius. Every person was a pleasure to talk to. I have never met nicer staff in a hotel ..ever! The rooms are large , clean and quiet. This place has an old world feel to it with all the modern amenities you could wish for. The pool area is a lovely oasis of gardens and stone terraces. You can walk to restaurants and shopping in Coconut grove and to the awesome Freshmart on Bayshore Drive. Across the street is Biscayne Bay . There are bike paths , parks , all within steps of the hotel . Amazing.

Room Tip: If you choose a room up high and close to the front of the hotel you will be able to see the water a...

Dear Rosiespeople,
I would first like to state that you are welcome back to stay with us anytime. We really appreciate you taking the time to write a great review about our hotel. Our team had a great laugh with the genius comment. The management team all wanted to take credit for it. However, it was our consensus that it wasn’t as much the hiring process but the environment we work in that creates an inviting experience to our guests. From top to bottom our staff loves what they do. That is the factor that leads to our service being top notch. We continue to work hard and our goals are to have guests like you leave with a smile on their faces and a sense of value received. It doesn’t hurt that our location and our product are both superior. When you do set up your next stay with us, feel free to contact me directly. Thank you again for taking the time to review our hotel.

Dear tcofra,
What a pleasure to read such a nice review! In our industry, nothing makes us happier that hearing that we have left our guests speechless in a positive way. We can understand how making a last minute booking could cause a bit of anxiety. However, we couldn’t be happier that the anxiety was left behind once you entered your suite. We also want to thank you for extending yourself to leaving a favorable comment on our corporate website. We can honestly say that guests like you make the job of hospitality very rewarding. We hope you have a chance to visit us in the future on a planned vacation. Once again, thank you!!

The hotel was perfect for a vacation with a 2 year old. Close to parks where the parents colud run, close to playgrounds where the baby could play and a nice little shopping centre within walking distance. The neighbourhood felt very safe even after dark. The flat was big, modern, comfortable, new, clean and well equiped. We vere lucky to have a big balcony with a view. The pool at the hotel was clean and warm.
