“Great Location, Great Service, Great Hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2011

Stayed there with my family (2 Adults, 2 Teenagers) through the end of February, early March. We stayed in one of the upper floor front units (the x01 and x02 units). Great sunrises and sunset views! Superb location for those who want to be close to where the action is (SoBe, Coral Gables, Downtown) but get away as easily when things get too crowded. Shopping and Restaurants nearby, actually, walking distance (not so common elsewhere in Miami!). Family will be back next year!

This place was a nice hotel in Coconut Grove. It is a little dated (they still use actual keys), but it's also a good price. The rooms were clean and the pool was nice. Although the cocktail service at the pool was painfully slow.
The rooms could definitely be updated, but on the positive side our standard room had a full kitchen and a washer/dryer - so it would probably be a great place for families.

Spent a week at the Mutiny in mid february 2011. Here is a list of my pros and cons

Pros: Adequate fitness center ,great sauna/steam room
Friendly and polite staff
3 minute walk to Cocowalk area/ multiple restaurants/ couple of great outdoor
breakfast spots
5 minute walk to a gourmet market called Fresh Market
Pool area had good sun exposure

Cons: Although the lobby and the downstairs were very well appointed, the upstairs
needed some updating.
The concierge was never at the desk
You will need a car if you want to go to the beach
$13/day charge for WiFi

Would definately recommend to a friend and will probably stay again next year

Just stayed 2 nights at the Mutiny.
To the positives: good location , roomy and clean accommodations.
To the negatives:this hotel looks dated. I bet you it has not been refurbished in a long time and it shows. For the price in Miami, this is not acceptable. For around the same price, next-door, the Sonesta is much better.

Our stay here was a mixture of adequate to outstanding during our 8 day stay in Coconut Grove. The view from our room (602) was outstanding overlooking the bay and Myers/Peacock Park bordering Biscayne Bay. The room was very comfortable and spacious fully furnished with two bedrooms, two full baths a full kitchen. Most of the fixtures, furniture were worn and in some cases outdated. Several wall electrical outlets did not work. Interior paint, trim and walls lacked any attention to detail, closet doors had excessive coatings of paint and should be replaced. All plumbing fixtures turn the wrong direction are old, worn and clogged. Toilets are difficult to flush and are in need of maintenance. The staff was very responsive when tips were plentiful. Internet costs if you want to use it in the convenience of your room and parking will cost you $21.00 per day. Don't look for too much value past the room and view.

We stayed at the Mutiny for 2 nights in a 2BD/2BA suite. We had to be in the area for day surgery at a nearby facility. Our suite was wonderful with every convenience including a full kitchen and a W/D in the suite. The staff could not do enough for us. We had no idea how perfect the location is - walking distance to waterfront restaurants and a wonderful gourmet supermarket. And right around the corner are all the shops and restaurants of Coconut Grove. The condo/hotel has a lovely pool area and an adequate gym. There is a 24 HR Fitness within a couple of blocks if you want more exercise options. There is a really cute little restaurant in the hotel as well. I would definitely return!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Few destinations can boast such a distinctive and colorful character as Coconut Grove. In the heart of this tropical paradise sits The Mutiny Hotel, a luxurious all-suite property neighboring the pristine waters of Biscayne Bay. A bright swatch of coral set against the intensely blue South Florida sky, the Mutiny's 12-story tower epitomizes the South Florida style; vibrant colors compliment chic accommodations elegantly decorated in a modern-lavish motif. Long a playground for the elite, The Grove - as it is known by locals - is also a second home to many celebrities, artists, and jetsetters. Its entertainment and shopping district reflects the quirky-yet-sophisticated nature of its residents, and visitors can find everything from haute couture to haughty kitsch in the many shops at CocoWalk, steps from The Mutiny's front door. After all, where else can you see stars in broad daylight, dance through an island festival, and enjoy dinner at a funky cafe? Only at The Mutiny. ... more   less
