“Lovely, rennovated room”

Be sure to tell them that you want a rennovated room and you should be extremely pleased. Our immaculate room was lovely with extremely comfortable bedding and a lovely bathroom. Though we were close to a busy airport, our room was very quiet and we had a great night's sleep. We parked our car and left it in their lot while we were away for a few days. The shuttle from the airport to the hotel was very convenient. If we need a place to stay near the airport, we would definitely stay here again and we would recommend it to our friends.

My wife and I stayed here for a conference that was being held at this same hotel. Shuttle service from the airport was great, check in was a little slow as many people were checking in at the same time. The room was in good shape; clean, safe and quiet! The hotel staff were always doing something cleaning, giving directions, helping people with there bags, etc. One of the doorman (Jesus) was a wealth of knowledge of the Miami area, and seemed to have an answer or solution to just about anything! The conference rooms were clean and orderly with plenty of ice water and mints on every table. All of the AV equipment worked well. Improvements: the internet speed was very slow. At the breakfast bar -- be sure you know what is covered under "free" and what you have to pay for. The quality of food was good but the service was a little slow, which meant they served some of the food cold. For a conference or an overnight stay to go on a cruise, we would stay here but not necessarily if we were on vacation.

We are in the process of addressing the Internet speed but have encountered some unexpected bumps in the road. Nothing that we could not overcome but it will take longer than expected to get us upgraded.

It didn't start too good, we were told to wait for the shuttle at the airport on the departures level. We waited for about 30 minutes at the shelter and never even saw a Crowne Plaza shuttle. Took a cab that cost $10.00 and upon arriving at the hotel to our surprise 3 shuttles are parked at the door. I told the front desk but was not offered anything besides a "sorry about that".

The hotel itself is very nice and the rooms are very clean and comfortable, after all it is what really counts, a good clean bed to sleep and a clean bathroom to take a shower.

Then comes New Year 2011! Wanting to get ourselves a bit more champagne I went to the bar to purchase a bottle only to be told that the bar was closed, strangely the bartender continued serving clients until 1:00am.

Breakfast! Not the best but still acceptable.

Conclusion a good place for a layover, to my opinion a bit far from the cruise port.

hotel front desk staff was very helpfull when checking in,asking for directions. this hotel needs a renovation everything appears to be a little on the worn and dirty side. our room had blood on the pillow cases and housekeeping had to be called two times to get the pillow cases changed and then they didn't really clean the room. overall the housekeeping was very average at best.also missed a wake-up call on one of the days. the elevators are still being renovated and are very slow. mentioned our issues when checking out and really got no reaction from the front desk other to say "we're sorry" even though with the missed wake up we should have been compensated for one night (their stated policy). in my opinion this hotel caters to airline crews and for people that are willing to put up with an average hotel for a one night pre/post cruise stay

You are correct that you should have received the promised compensation for the missed wake up call. Crowne plaza at the airport is perfect for early flights, shuttles leave every 20 minutes, but be in place 5 minutes before as the one I was to take left 2 minutes before schedule.. Staff at the hotel are friendly, always asking how one is, service is quick, food decent at restaurant. As long as everything works and no problems occur, service flows, but when something malfunctions the service lacks.
On return to room after 7 hours out on town, the room was not cleaned. Called the front desk, they would call back, 40 minutes later - nothing. Called again, the explanation was that I would have left the "don't disturb" sign on door... Which I had not as I wasn't even in the room. Silly excuse from front desk. A tip to the hotel: instead of making up excuses, just send a housekeeper for the cleaning and problem is solved.

I have stayed at this hotel five times this year en route to Haiti. The beds & bedding are very comfortable and I found the rooms, bathrooms and bedding clean. The shuttle runs on time every 20 minutes.

The hotel and bar staff are very nice and helpful. If you need to catch an international flight or cruise this is the perfect place to stay for a good night sleep and exceptional value.

My only wish is that they served better coffee in the restaurant.

I stayed at this hotel due to some business I had in Miami. Arrived on a Sunday to find some type of clandestine farmers market adjacent to the property. When I stepped into the hotel, I expected to see Crockett and Tubbs (Miami Vice) come walking through. This place could really use some modernization.
Front desk friendly enough. Room was kind of dirty. I stayed for almost a week and noticed that they didnt do a very good job at cleaning the room. The couch in my room and the desk chair looked like something from a Motel 6 along the interstate.
One of three elevators was broke for my entire visit. No ice on the third floor for the whole week (sign said "temporarily out of order") but it probably still is.
13.00 a day parking? Come on. The hotel is in the barrio, so I expect there to be some security provided by the hotel without dumping the cost on travelers.
Never could get the wireless internet to work with my computer for more than 30 seconds. Called the "help" line the hotel provided. Someone in India said they could fix the problem but never was able to. Good thing I had my smartphone.
Lots of flight crews stay at this hotel. They seem to get the preferential treatment.

I stay at better hotels, but this one was a discounted rate for my business. Wouldnt stay here again or recommend it to my colleagues.

A couple of points of clarification for those who read this posting:
The grounds between our hotel and the nearby Office building is used by the City of Miami for a weekend multicultural Farmers market, reflecting the diverse population of Miami.
As stated in earlier postings, we are presently undergoing a total rehab of our guest elevators.
The hotel is located 1.8 miles south of the Miami International Airport and offers those interested in exploring Miami's diverse population and multicultural offerings several opportunities to do so within easy walking distance.
