We had an early-morning flight today and decided to check out of our boutique Miami Beach hotel to stay at the airport last night for convenience. I booked a queen room for $149, and when I checked in asked about an upgrade-- and was told that the hotel had already upgraded me. We ended up with a corner King room. The location is, of course, impossible to beat if you want to be at the airport-- the hotel is literally IN the airport (the front desk is inside Terminal E). An elevator steps from the front desk takes you to your room, which in our case was spacious and quiet. We didn't get a view, but did not hear a single noise of any kind all night. Unfortunately the 7th floor restaurant was closed for remodeling, but we took a short $22.00 cab ride to a restaurant in Coral Gables and then came back via Uber for $8.00. This isn't the Ritz, but it's 5 stars in my book.
