“Expensive but convenient location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014

This hotel is a little bit expensive for what it is but is very convenient if you need to stay near the airport. The hotel is located inside the airport complex, so just a short walk from arrival/departure gates and no need to leave. I booked a day room here because I had an early morning arrival and late night flight departure in Miami and I was able to get some sleep in relative comfort.

The room was clean although for the price I probably would have expected a little more. I was woken up at one point by someone trying to get into my room - don't know whether it was an employee but a little disconcerting nonetheless.

The queues for reception were often long and the staff were quite abrupt.

Miami is a nice place. If you need to stay close to the airport and can afford to stay here, then it's not bad but there are probably better places downtown and you can get into the city with relative ease using the train which tasks half an hour and costs $2.25.

Hotel is much dated. Mattresses are noise and uneven. Rooms and corridors, mainly because of old carpet and beds, look and smell like an old LV casino.

Reception is being renovated. I was told that by mid-March it should be done, which will facilitate passenger and luggage drop-off from the curb.

Nighttime porters are rude and willing to carry your luggage for less than $20. On this 12th of February early morning (2AM) I had to put up with one of the porters bad humor and insane price in order to help me haul my luggage to Terminal J. If your traveling with only a couple of suitcases I recommend the rented airport carts. They cannot be brought to your room so you'll also have to carry your own luggage to the lobby area.

Other than being dated and having the worst luggage porters in MIA area nothing beats the ease of being inside the airport if your traveling with small children like I was on this trip.

Dear Bellesi,

Thank you for staying with us at the Miami international airport hotel. We appreciate your feedback as well as your business.

I would first like to apologize for the inconvenience you encountered with our staff member. I am extremely disappointed of the actions of my employee, at the Miami international airport hotel our number one priority is superior guest service and guest satisfaction, our employee’s action is not an indicative of the type of service we provide.

However, I am glad that you found our hotel to be practical and convenient for your travel.
We truly hope you visit us again on your next stop to the Miami international airport hotel and experience the many changes being reveled in months to come.

This is a worn out hotels with worn out beds, towels, linens, blankets and bedspreads. Felt like I had gone to a Howard Hohnsons that was built in the 60's and they were still using all of the same stuff. Poor customer service did not help. The only reason to stay at this hotel is if your stay is so short that a ride to another near by hotel would not be worth the effort.

If you just need a place to stay at the airport its perfect. Wifi did work in our room and it was comfortable but not that modern. Toiletries, coffee and large screen TV with no airport or hotel noise made for a comfortable stay.
The reception staff were ok but it was a bit worrying seeing the works in the lobby, however everything worked out ok for us. $50 overpriced.

First off, this is convenient if you need to spend the night and fly out the next morning, but otherwise stay away.
It used to be MUCH nicer when they had the rooftop pool and health club.

Ate in the restaurant. The coconut shrimp appetizer was delicious, but only had TWO shrimp, a ripoff.
Anyway, if you decide to stay, be careful when you reserve. I typed in the name of the hotel online, and called the first toll free number, thinking I was dealing directly with the hotel. Turns out, I reserved thru Expedia, and even though the price of the room was the same, (no bargains here) you don't get free breakfast unless you book directly thru the hotel. They advertise free in room Internet, but it only works off the airport wifi, in the lobby, which is a mess because they're doing MUCH needed renovations. The room had shutters with a view of a wall!
Nothing great, but better than sleeping in the airport, as many wound up doing that night because of massive flight cancellations due to an impending winter storm.

Room Tip: Renovations are underway. Perhaps some renovated rooms are better than ours was.

I have stayed several times in this hotel over the past 15 years as I travel a lot as as a journalist. Before, the rooms were quite tacky and the windows could not open at all. That later fact is still true so do not count on fresh air. However, the hotel has finally been renovated and the rooms look way better. But, they also have adjusted the biil..from $99 to ....$197 with taxes for one night !!! Outrageous for such a hotel with almost no service (when you come in late, there's no one for your luggages), the wifi did not work in our rooms on our way to our first destination and when we returned (so on different floors), and we had to go downstairs each time we wanted to send mails.

When you get downstairs, you might never get a seat as all of them are taken by people...who are not clients of the hotel, will not pay for a hotel but who sleep all night for free on the armchairs...

The staff at the front desk is not helpful nor particularly nice as they know that they will renew the clientele constantly because of the location of this hotel : it's right inside the airport and 10 minutes walk from international departure gates.

Really, if it was not for that location, I would never go back. Now, I don't know how some people got free breakfast for we had to pay almost $40 for the simpliest breakfast with no eggs and got our rooms through booking.com which, usually, has the best prices on the web.

I repeat, the prices of this hotel are just outrageous ! We are subjects of inflated prices just because of the location. Next time, I'll stay at the Marriot, just 5 minutes away, much nicer and cheaper.

Room Tip: If you have to stay there, just stay for one night only !

Please know that I have reported issue on Wi-Fi and are working closely with our tech department on fixing, if any, issues with our Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is free of charge to all hotel guests.
In addition, unfortunately all chairs at hotel our lobby are property of Miami-Dade County, the airport provides these lounge chairs for all airport passengers and hotel guest. We apologize that at the time you needed a space to get your computer to work all chairs were taken, I will bring this issue to the attention of our peers at the airport, and we appreciate you letting us know of how much of an inconvenience this was to you.

I also appreciate you letting us know on the behavior of our staff, it is unacceptable and it will be addressed. I apologize if you were not aware that breakfast is not included if you book through a third party. Our hotel offers free breakfast to all hotel guests who book directly through our webpage or directly via telephone with our in-house reservation department, if you give us another opportunity in the future, it will be best if you contact us directly or book directly through our webpage, please feels free to contact us for information. Please know that our front desk takes into consideration and are familiar with our repeated guest, upon your arrival our front desk agent provided you with an upgrade on both of your stays with us. Unfortunately, due to airport security regulations, our hotel room windows are prohibited from opening. We will soon have an outdoor patio where our pool & health club used to be for those who would like some fresh air.

I am aware that you are very disappointed by your stay; please know that we try our very best every day to make all of our guests stay a convenient and satisfying one. We truly hope you give us another opportunity to be of service to you in the future as we have many new and exciting changes being displayed in the months to come.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2014 credit card Amex Card Member Review

The "no name" hotel is INSIDE the airport .... no need to leave the terminal. There's no lobby right now .... only a front desk. It and the elevators are under renovation. The rooms are adequate for an overnight, but not much more. The computer couldn't seem able to keep the room keycards working. It's an older building that hasn't kept up with the modernization of the concourses around it. Staff were mostly helpful and courteous. We'd probably stay again if we had an early flight or an overnight connection or another ice storm, but only maybe. They need to go to Tampa and take a look at the in-terminal hotel there!!!
