“Overnight Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012

We stayed at this hotel because we had an overnight layover in Miami. It was nice because it was right inside the airport and we did not have to go and venture out. It was a nice size room, quiet, but the bathroom was a bit small. It was clean and it was a good hotel for an overnight stay. It was a bit pricey for what you got. Next time I will look at hotels near the airport with a shuttle that will take you there and back.

Room Tip: Choose a king size bed room otherwise the size of the room is small.

There where many good things about this hotel that i want to say. The room service was good, the room was clean, the convenience is unbelievable and best of all the room has blackout curtains and is sound proof! Never heard a thing!! We basically picked up our bags and where in our room in ten minutes! There is a few things though that were not so great. We asked for a king but when we got to our room it was a queen. It look a day room, it was so small... no closet. We were so tired and had an early flight we just went to sleep. The hotel is in terrible need of renovation, it smells old. Needs new carpets. But you can not beat the convenience. I felt it was not over priced.

It's a hotel, it's at the airport. that's about all you can say about it. Clean, old fashioned, pokey little room with a tiny window and bathroom. But compensated for by the fact you can stroll to your departure gate from your room in five mins. There's a restaurant with a view of the airport, if that floats your boat (or flies your plane I suppose) serving very average food And the pool and gym were both closed when I visited. And that's all there is to it.

Location, Location, Location -- and a friendly front desk clerk is about all this place has going for it.
We missed our flight so we had to get on one early in the morning. This happened to us last year too on our way home from a trip. Hmmmmm, but I digress.

Rooms smell of disinfectant and room freshener but way too much of it like it's trying to cover up something. I've been sneezing all night.

And wireless internet is not included in the price which is sort of high for a really basic room.

It does the job, but just sort of okay. Utilitarian so don't expect more and be happy that you can basically wake up, walk downstairs and get coffee and go to your gate. :)

Well. Once again, a scan of Tripadvisor _almost_ put me off staying here, but I had a crazy early flight, and the idea of shuttling around Miami really did not appeal to me. So, with my nerves on edge, hoping I wasn't about to get a bad start to a much-needed vacation, I booked a room for the night. On balance, I am glad I did.

Yes, as others have noted, the room is very small. Hardly room to walk around the bed. But unlike some other reviewers, I found the room to be clean, the bed comfortable (enough... it's not the best bed I have slept in by a long way, but it's serviceable), and the location unbeatable. Really.

The corridors are a little shabby, and the staff were gruff, but so what? I didn't spend much time outside my room. I never ate in the restaurant, but I would point out there's a decent selection of places to eat in the terminal, some of which were eat in.

I would hate to have stayed here thinking I was getting a resort. I booked just wanting a clean room for the night where I could maximize on sleep, and that's exactly what I got... not a thing more. It's not romantic, it's not a resort, and it's not particularly fancy. But if you want an extra 45 minutes of sleep before a dawn flight, it's perfect.

We stayed one night at the Miami International Hotel while waiting for a flight connection home from our vacation. It was very handy and provided a good Trip Advisor rate. However, do not expect anything more than the old style airport hotel room. Very small, utilitarian and smelling of age. That said, it was kept very clean (except for one area of the bathroom floor, not well cleaned) and the furnishings had been upgraded recently. The plumbing worked well, check-in and out were fast and courteous and we were on our way quickly the next day. Just what we wanted.

I must admit that this hotel was in a great location, which allowed us to be more lax about getting ready to get to the check-in counter just a few meters away. Hence the 2 points I'm giving it. Other than that, it really is a disappointment! First of all, there was no internet included in the price. Even hotels with lower prices and same or better star ratings would offer internet and breakfast included in the price. They wanted to charge more money than the airport itself for internet. The service desk people left much to be desired. They hardly ever looked at us, talked to us while looking at their computer monitor and gave us a room (with an issue) located on the 6th floor, right below the restaurant. The ruckus they had going on up there made it nearly impossible to fall asleep. If it weren't for the fact that we were tired after traveling there, it would have taken us longer than 2am to finally be able to fall asleep. Our complaints went ignored and never was an apology offered for the inconvenience. The room had no ventilation and the windows were unoperable, which made for a very stuffy and smelly room. We had to crank up the A/C to dissipate the stench in the room. The hallways were ghost rattling chains noisy, dirty and uninviting. If you want the convenience of staying there because of an early flight, then make sure you stay away from the 6th floor. If you don't have an early flight or haven't arrived on a very late flight, it is better to call any of the many affordable hotels in the area which will not only shuttle you back and forth, but will also feed you breakfast and, if you're renting a car, will offer free parking, not to mention free internet! I hope I don't have to stay in this hotel again!!!

Room Tip: Stay away from anything close to the restaurant or you will NOT be able to sleep.
