“Early check-in is very expensive”

The hotel is close to the airport, although there is a trafic Jam around.the early check-in is more than 70% of a day, so it is better to book a extra day. Very comfortable and quiet. The parking lot is very cheap, it is around 7 dollars per day.

Stayed here with our family of four after long intercontinental flight. Hotel is located just 10min drive of the airport. Hotel has all the services you need for a short stay: bellboy, concierge, shuttle, starbucks, bar, a la carte restaurant, gym, pool etc. Room was clean and beds were awesome. Had a little snack at the bar which was okay but I truly recommend a la carte breakfast which was good. Only minus is that the pool outside is not heated. Otherwise everything was as it supposed to be.

The room is very plain; internet wifi was hard to get along with since it went on and off frequently + an extra password was needed for my wife!!
The hotel also charges $9/day for parking and $5/package received thru mail - I just hate when hotels need to make money on such basic things/services that you'd expect from a regular international hotel. Ok, if we were in downtown NY, Paris or Rome I'd understand the parking issue/lack of space but we are in Florida and the parking outside, was never full!!
There is also no buffet breakfast option, a la carte options are not cheap and if you are in a hurry, just give up because it is going to take forever to get your breakfast.............

Room Tip: Ask for rooms above 6th floor or else you will end up seeing vents and the roof!!

We stay at hotels at least 30 days out of the year, and we stated at the Sofitel last September and went back a week a go, and going again in January 2013, great location, extremely good service, super clean and they don't discriminate because if you travel with your pet, you guys are amazing, I always feel at home there

This is a geat example of how to destroy a brand. We entered the room and thought we were back in time: furniture, carpet, bedding, bathroom, along with the smell and odor from another era. Air conditioning system was broken. Sofitel Miami Airport claims to be a "Luxury" hotel. Well, it's everything but Luxurious. Avoid this hotel, not worth it. Pictures on the site are photoshop'd.

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights (wrapping up week 2 of a 3 week vacation) after a very disappointing trip to the Dominican Republic. This Miami hotel was exactly what we were hoping for.

We arrived via shuttle from the airport around 8:30pm. The wait time for the shuttle was less than 10 minutes. Upon arrival, we checked in and were offered an upgrade to a suite for $40 more a night. At first we declined, but got into our 2nd floor room and it was small and a bit stinky of mildew, We went back down and asked to see the suite. Concierge escorted us up to the 9th floor to take a look, and we quickly agreed to upgrade.

My husband and I were starving, so we went to the restaurant downstairs. I noticed on the menu it stated that there is a 9% tax and a 15% service charge added to the bill. I asked our server if the service charge was the gratuity, he stated yes, and was because a lot of Europeans do not share the American "tipping" custom. I was a little leery about it at first because generally when the gratuity is already added into the bill, the service becomes almost non-existent. However, the service we received was top notch, and the food was delicious! We added 10% more to the gratuity because our dining experience was excellent.

Aside from a few coffee stains on the couch in our room, it was comfortable and clean. It had an electronic safe, but did not have a mini bar or fridge (there is a quaint lounge in the lobby). Housekeeping knocked on our door every morning around 9:30am asking if we needed anything, which in my opinion is a plus just in case we needed another towel. Our room was cleaned everyday, bed made, stocked towels, and other toiletries.

From check in to check out, and all in between, the staff were more than nice to us. Their customer service is what we were paying for, and they definitely delivered!

We will be coming back, and it will be for more than 2 nights. I highly recommend this hotel.

I love this hotel. Smart and stylish with superb food and comfortable, quiet rooms, even though it is close to the airport. I want to go back and stay there for a week this Christmas. Alas, it has one serious problem - an unheated pool. Why they would have an unheated pool in the winter is beyond me. It wouldn't be so bad if they had a hot tub, but sadly they don't have one. It's a great pity. It stops a wonderful hotel being perfect! I shall have to stay somewhere else this trip because of it.
