“Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2012

This elegant boutique hotel is full-service in a gracious way. European in origin, the staff is polite and friendly. The concierge went above and beyond helping us arrange our international boarding passes, even to the point of calling the airline. We watched a glorious orange and red sunset from the quiet pool (a waterfall masks the airplanes). Our room was tasteful and lovely, and the breakfast delivered to it came on time, was delicious, and affordable. We will seek a Sofitel in every city we travel to, and hope for more in the USA.

Room Tip: We overlooked the pool where the brilliant sunset was gorgeous.

Less a Sofitel, more a dated Mercure. We stayed here for one night after flying from Washington. The room was tired and while the furnishings were from the Sofitel catalogue, they looked like they had been discarded from a better class hotel. The bathroom was tidy, but old. Not a five star hotel, more a 3.5 star. Disappointing for this usually luxury brand. On the bright side, we still got the macaroons and a-club silver welcome drinks on check-in.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Sofitel Miami. Both stays were relaxing comfortable and completely enjoyable. Location to the airport is convenient and airplane noise is minimal. Pool and deck area comfortable and relaxing. Will plan on staying again.

We booked this hotel for a pre-cruise night. It was a great location for us because it we had flown into Tampa for a meeting and needed to return our rental car to the Miami airport. We checked into the hotel, dropped off our luggage and then went to the airport to return the car. The free hotel shuttle bus picked us up exactly when they said they would. In the morning they offer a $10 per person shuttle to all the terminals at the port of Miami but we opted for a private taxi (which they called for). It cost us $30 with tip and we were able to go directly to our terminal rather than traveling to each cruise line for other hotel guests.
Although staying close to the airport certainly isn't as lively as South Beach for our needs this was a good choice. Our room was an extra large corner room and was decorated nicely. The only complaint is that the bathrooms have tile in the tub which typicallyhad traces of mold. Other than that the room was very nice and the hotel staff was very friendly and efficient.

We needed to stay one night before travelling to Orlando by car. We came late and where picking up the car early in the morning. The hotel is located close to the airport, it is a beautiful property with swimming pool and all that you need for a one night stay. We enjoyed our stay, but little dissapointed of the a la carte breakfast due to the fact that all Sofitel hotels we have stayed in else where have a big buffet. The hotel is perfect for stays connected with the airport.

Stayed at this hotel one night prior to our cruise. Arrangements were made through norwegian cruise line. We paid $200. It is very close to the airport but the planes really didnt bother us. While the hotel was nice, I would not consider it a "luxury hotel" as it claims. All Staff we encountered were quite nice and efficient. The public areas, ie bar and seating area, restaraunt, and pool area (while small), were quite nice. The rooms themselves were fine, but nothing more spectacular than your newer Holiday Inn or Best Western. Would stay again if our purpose was the same. To me, this was an expensive hotel, but I really have no idea what a nice hotel in Miami should go for.
