“Great Hotel, Awesome Room, Great View, Nice Staff, Great Gym”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2010

Would happily stay here again when in the Miami area. Great shuttle service from airport to Alamo Car rental to cruise port. Very nice bedding. Highly recommend this hotel. The resteraunt 777 had great fish for a reasonable price too. Really good gym with lots of equipment, and an indoor basketball court my husband just loved. The hot tub and pool were nice too. We had a really great experience here and we booked through priceline and got a great deal! A whole mall is connected to the hotel, its cool!

I usually read tripadvisor review before getting into a new hotel I don't know and usually the reviews are not objective or people overreact to any problems they may have. So I try to give my honest and professional traveler review to help others decide.

This hotel is right in front of the Miami International Airport, so don't expect to walk around to find fine shops or restaurants, this hotel is for people with rental cars or people that will use the shuttle to the airport. The rooms are big and clean, the beds are very comfortable and the wireless internet is free and fast. The staff was polite.

Yes, you have to pay $7/day for self-parking which I don't like, but most other hotels near the airport charges a parking fee, so it's not uncommon. The elevator issue has been solved, They had two brand new and very fast elevators and a third was coming soon.

So, if you want a clean and comfortable room near the airport for a fair price and with nice business facilities, this hotel fits the bill. If you want a hotel where you can walk around to nice restaurants or spend your honeymoon, this is not the hotel for you, just go to south beach and be prepared to pay $250/night

So I got to the Miami airport and called to see what the shuttle to the hotel situation was. The lady told me to wait 1/2 hour, so I asked where the shuttle was that I have to wait 1/2 hour. Her lazy @ss wouldn't call the shuttle and was just like just wait outside. Of course, I stood outside for 1/2 hour and nope, the shuttle didn't come. Called the hotel back and this new lady finally called the shuttle man, and 5 minutes later, he showed me.

The room and hotel itself is fine. I would say it's a 3 star hotel.

I woke up Thursday morning and called room service, no answer. Call 5 minutes later, still no answer, left message. So called front desk, was informed they were busy because there's only one person working, was told to call 5 minutes later. Again, nothing, called the front desk again, lazy woman (I think from the night before) just reconnected me to nothing again. Called the front desk again, no one picked up. Called again, someone finally picked up, after complaining that I've been calling room service for the last 20 minutes and no one has picked up, the front desk finally decided to page room service. A couple minutes later, got a call back. So ridiculous. I just got the impression people are just really lazy at this hotel.

Hotel was located near the airport. Overall it was clean and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We also used there business center and it had several computers and a printer. I enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. Cookies were great!!

I booked this hotel through priceline for one week 6/10, leisure. I have lived in Miami and still travel there at least four times a year. I specifically book hotels off the beach because i always rent a car and need parking freedom. This hotel has a parking concession, $7 a day additional, no exceptions. After booking I called the GM and left a message about the parking issue, He never returned my call. After I checked in the desk cleck assured me she would tell him. Upon entering my room he was on the phone. He claimed my phone number was invalid. I've had the same number and answering machine for 25years, he just ignored my message because this was a pre-paid room. The parking for this hotel should be included in the room rate. They have ample unused space. It's not 3.5 star service.

First I should like to apologize regarding any inconvenience that you may have experienced during your stay at the Doubletree Miami Mart. However when it comes to the parking issue the following should be noted - all nationally branded hotels at the Miami airport including all 3 – 4 star properties charge for parking and the Doubletree Miami Mart has the lowest parking charges in the airport market. Secondly, we do have complimentary parking incorporated in several package rates however opaque rates such as priceline which are booked strictly as price buys only, are not eligible for benefits that are provided in other rate tiers – such honors points, complimentary breakfast and parking – I would recommend in the future should you wish to enjoy these benefits, that you book directly with the Doubletree Brand Website which has all of these options available. In the event that I may be of future service in assisting you with your bookings, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Tony Ferrara

Layover in Miami after Mission work in Haiti, so I was looking forward to a restful evening. Check-in was slower than it should have been mid-afternoon, and upon getting to room hooking up to their wireless network was problematic (I guess I was too far down the hall to get a strong signal but that should be considered when it was installed). The business center was not well supervised, as both printers were not functioning. Please beware there is very little in the way of commerce such as open later eateries or stores within walking distance other than in the hotel. Also, I don't find the soft pillow top mattresses particularly comfortable and did not sleep all that well.

On the positive side, the rooms were spacious and relatively clean, and the pool area was very nice. The price was right through a third-party site, but would not intentionally schedule a room here again.

I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews, but our pre-cruise stay was great. The shuttle picked us up at the airport and helped with bags. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated, the elevators worked well and room service breakfast was quick and tasty. We had drinks in the comfortable seating area near the bar and a good but expensive dinner in the restaurant. The fitness center was great and the pool was fine. The concierge arranged a reasonably-priced van service to the pier that had a trailer for luggage. We needed it! And freshly-baked cookies were available at the front desk. To reassure those of you who read about bedbugs on a previous post, I did a search of my room, as I always do these days in hotels, and there was absolutely no evidence of bedbugs. The bed was very comfortable and I slept like a baby.
