“Convenient but that's about it”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

My family stayed at this hotel for one night after flying into Miami late one day, and before driving up to Orlando. It was okay, but two things would keep me from returning. First, the noise level was high. With all the rooms opening up on the courtyard (I haven't stayed at many Embassy Suites but apparently this is the standard layout), we could hear everything in the atrium down below. Also, I think the open feel gives everyone a sense that they're in the lobby and can be loud, when in fact they're also walking right next to people's rooms. My kids were sleeping on the pullout sofa in the living room and their sleep was definitely effected. Second, the non-smoking room smelled badly of smoke, particularly the living area. Yuck. On a final note, maybe this is standard in the area, but I thought $16 for parking per night was outrageous -- it's not like the hotel is located in the center of the city. They really can't throw free parking in for guests? Not a fan.

We were staying 1 night before our cruise. Free shuttle from the airport, speedy check in, wonderful suites-so clean. Great food in the restaurant and a lovely manager's reception. The central area of the hotel alone is worth the stay!

Room Tip: A king suite has plenty of room to be comforttable.

The breakfast was great. The manager reception was great. The room was big and bed was very comfortable. The noise was hard to deal with. Between planes taking off all night and kids running up and down the hallway like a playground made sleeping a bit difficult. The gentleman working the gift shop was less than pleasant.

Room Tip: If you choose to stay here try to stay away from the airport

David, we apologize for the inconvenience that you experienced during your stay. We hope that you did mention this to our front office team. Each of our guests who stay with us has personal profile. This is to ensure that any future stay will make things right if we failed to do so during their past experience. If you did not mention this, please call our hotel and we can add the personal note of noise level to your file. We will address this issue with our security team members and hope you consider us in the near future. Again we apologize for any inconvenience.

We stayed in this hotel, after bad experience in one another..At check in, we had a problem with the woman at the front desk, she said she will call us when the room will be ready ....but she has never done it.... so we took the room at 7 pm...
After that, the room was very nice, huge, comfortable.... The hotel is very nice, the "inside garden" is nice too.... pool.... staff.... : perfect ! All is a pleasure ! Happy hour time was a great surprise . Breakfast is perfect : choice, quality.... This hotel is a very good choice : even for a stop in Miami or for vacation.
Embassy Suites is near airport but it is easy to find restaurants around it . (with a car or not)

Thank you for your review. We are please that you were able to settle in and finally enjoy your Suite and all the amenities we have to offer. I was unclear if the experience at check in was for our hotel and if so we apologize in our delay. The complimentary drinks are a bonus to our guests and we love to give them that special surprise after a long flight or like you, a bad experience in another hotel. Thank you for writing a review and hope that you come back soon.

Best Regards

This Embassy Suites has, hands down, the most organized breakfast crew we have every experienced. My husband and I both ordered omelets. Instead of having only one cook who did it all, there were two ladies at the omelet station. One took your order for what ingredients you wanted, dished them into a container and the other lady cooked the eggs and blended in the ingredients. Very organized and hardly any waiting for the finished product. There was a lady who was cleaning tables at breakfast who was very personable and we could tell she really loved her job and this hotel. I wish I remembered her name. Our experience with the "happy hour" was a little less "put together". First the hotel was totally full so the lines at the bar were long. Also I believe the common area around the bar could have a better design. There was a lot of extra walking to get to the outer areas of tables. The staff at the front desk as well as the staff driving the vans and delivering luggage were all first rate. They went out of their way to assure we had everything we needed and in a time frame that masked the fact that the hotel was full. We would chose to stay here if ever we visit Miami again.

Room Tip: our room in the "corner" of the ninth floor was very quiet.

Just stayed at the Embassy for 2 nights pre-cruise. The hotel was wonderful - our room was spacious and clean - and quiet! The beds were comfortable, and we had a great view of downtown Miami from our window. The staff members that we encountered were very helpful and always friendly. We had the unfortunate experience of having my husband's wallet stolen the night before our cruise, and the shuttle staff went above expectations to take us back to the restaurant where it happened and helped us search for it hoping that it had been dropped - but no luck. Fortunately, we were able to continue on with our trip after spending time cancelling all our credit cards and notifying authorities. We were very happy with our stay at Embassy Suites - loved the free happy hour, and the restaurant was quite good as well. We definitely would stay there again if we return to the Miami area.

How unfortunate that you had to spend your pre-cruise destination cancelling all your credit cards. We are so pleased that our team members, specifically the Valet Staff we empathetic and assisted you in your time of distress. We will forward this information onto that department so they can be recognized for their customer service. We hope your cruise was amazing and your return safe. Thank you again for your wonderful review.

This hotel was very convenient and had free shuttle service to/from the ariport. The lobby is beautiful, with the "tropical" forest and everything. Everyone we encountered could not have been more friendly and helpful! The room was ready when we got there around 1:30, and it was probably one of the largest rooms I've ever stayed in! Of course, they are all suites but it seemed to be an extra roomy suite. The managers reception was great for some quick snacks (some free drinks, but we didn't partake as there was a line). The pool was really pretty, my kids loved it. The breakfast the next morning was outstanding! I couldn't believe it was "free!" Great options, including healthy ones - I had an egg white omelet and oatmeal.
We were staying overnight before taking a cruise the next day, and they even have a shuttle service set up to go directly to the port from the hotel! It worked out to be about the same as a taxi for the four of us, and we found it more fun to travel with other families going on the same Disney Cruise that we were!
All in all, a great hotel and friendly staff - definitely recommended!

How wonderful that you enjoyed your pre-cruise destination with us. We have the only full cook complimentary breakfast in the area and it is not continental as most would think. It is HOT and order breakfast. We are happy that the shuttle service was ready and to your liking and hope that on any future stay in the Miami Location you will choose us again. Thank you for writing this review we will forward this to our team members for job well done.
