“Nice hotel- spa wasn't working”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2012

Hotel is your general Embassy Suites. Everying was nice except the hot tub/ spa wasn't working and no one seemed to have any idea about it. Spoke with front desk several times during stay but they seemed unaware. Finally spoke with maintenance team and they advised they were awaiting a part and didn't know how long it would be. Just a note for the hotel to improve communications with the front desk staff as they are first line to guests and any issues they may have. Overall good stay.

We stayed overnight before catching our cruise. Although the Embassy is on the older side, the room and bathroom were very clean and spacious, pool and hot tub area was also nice. Unfortunately our room's view was of concrete parking lots and warehouse buildings but I understand there are better views for some rooms. Waiting on the shuttle to pick us up from the airport was somewhat problematic as they kept filling up before they got to where a lot of guest were waiting. They need to vary stops, or have more shuttle vans. Some guests ended up having to get a taxi having waited so long. They were told the hotel would reimburse them, I hope they did. We even called the front desk and asked if there was a better place outside the airport to wait and was told no. Obviously there is, but we didn't know about it until afterwards.

We were quite tired after a long flight so didn't do any exploring around the area away from the hotel. Happy hour with complimentary drinks was a nice extra for the guests, the restaurant food turned out to be very good and plentiful for the pricing. Our waiter was great, friendly and helpful. The next morning's complimentary breakfast was very expansive and much more than the average continental breakfast you usually find.

The shuttle the next morning to the ports is not through the hotel but an outside contracted service and cost extra and guests should book as soon as they get to the hotel if they are going to need it. The concierge who books these seemed rather overworked or confused and kept putting us off telling us to come back in 30 minutes even though she was actually just standing in front of her desk. Maybe she needs some help.

If you need a place close to the airport the Embassy is a good pick.

We stayed here with our two kids and it was great. Clean, spacious, super friendly staff. Comfy beds and we were sad we had to leave so early to return to the airport! Shuttle was prompt (every half hour) and was extremely close to the airport. Good pool too.

I stayed here in June 2012. The hotel lobby is nice. The rooms, however, are very dated and the chair in our room actually had a bit tear in it. Breakfast is pure chaos and the hotel needs to change the layout. Simply seperating the buffet from the omelet station would be huge improvement.

We stayed one night. The hotel is close to the airport. The room was big. It had a small living area with a tv and the bedroom was big. The room had a microwave, small sink and a refrigerator. They have a free happy hour after 5 pm, drinks and snacks ate offered and is complementary to your stay. Also, there is free breakfast; which was very good. Hot and cold food. Yummy doughnuts at breakfast. The hotel reminded me of an old Hollywood movie. The hotel has a skylight. If you are looking to stay close to the airport and have a great, delicious free breakfast stay here. The hotel gym equipment looked new to me but the pool area was dirty. The pool was dirty. We enjoyed the hotel. Hotel also has a restaurant. We travelled in June.

I stayed at the Embassy Suites with my friends prior to our cruise. We initially had a bad experience with the supervisor who was rude and stated he didn't have any rooms with double beds available (although we had booked rooms months ago). It took about 10-15 minutes to get this resolved. The rooms looked nice but the sofa bed was very uncomfortable and did not feel clean. My friends said the beds were comfortable.
The manager's reception was very nice and the breakfast was great. I would stay there again.
