1st 2 nights upgraded to Condo side. Wonderful price for 2 BR condo. Nice balcony overlooking the Marriott pool & courtyard. Side view of the bay. Couldn't get off elevator due to floor being retiled. Internet connection was very weak. kept getting kicked off. Would love to see it when all the construction has been completed.

3rd night - actual hotel room. Nice balcony overlooking bay! Room was comfortable. Hallway was chilly.
Would be willing to stay at again. Very convenient to Downtown, Metromover & bus routes.

We had a wonderful room with a great view-I was a little sad they didn't offer us the cookies I love from the DoubleTree-and were able to accommodate us for holding our bags, which they charged us for. I had never been charged to valet bags before and thought is was a little odd and the charge appeared as early check in which was a little irritating because it wasn't like we had use of a room during that time, the same when we checked out since our flight was later in the day. Everything was nice, I just didn't think they were very accommodating for things like that. I understand hotels need to make a profit, but when people are traveling those extra amenities like a complimentary bag valet-especially when the hotel is at capacity-are the types of indulgences and conveniences people look for in a place to stay.

If you're on business, it's fine. Near Downtown and good restaurants around and only a 10-minute drive from Miami Beach or North Miami.

As a tourist, I would have preferred the hotel to have a pool, but anyways it's good.

If you own (or rented) a car, a valet of $30 per day will be charged to your bill for them to park the car on the parking lot.

This hotel is large, and is shared with condo owners in the building. Security is good, as you must pass a little checkpoint in order to get to the elevators.

We were on 20 and had a view looking north. The entire bay was center to right, when viewed from our extremely long and pleasant balcony. There was a table and chairs out there and we sat out there in the mornings eating breakfast.

Our unit was one of the condo units, and was a 2 bedroom. It had full kitchen, lg. lvng rm, dining rm, master bedroom, 2 gigantic master closets, a dressing table area, and huge bathroom. The other bedroom had built in closets and a smaller bathroom.

Upon entering the unit, you come in and are faced with floor to ceiling windows. These windows are also in the 2 bedrooms and they have that huge balcony. What fun.

The drawbacks are that the unit is a little dated...namely in the bathrooms. But it did give a real Miami vibe with the furniture selections (white leather sofa and chairs, crazy overhead lamp!). It had good tv and tv stations....the kitchen was nice, the fridge was great with ice water etc in the door...garbage disposal in sink, an average selection of plates, silverware and glasses...cookie sheet, pots...not bad...they give you a gift pack with dish detergent, sponge and a bit of tide and downy as there are washer/dryer in the unit.

Overall, I felt quite at home here...the unit is very very large and spacious...so it was really like being at home. Oh, and the maids came in a pack of 3 and they were very very nice and accommodating...also toiletries are Crabtree and Evelyn.

As a gold member, I was upgraded to a condo with balcony facing the bay. Loved the view and the accommodation. The location is really great. Publix is a walking distance so we can cook or buy some cooked food to save while on vacation.

The attempt to convert condos into massive suites is a failure. The renovation appears to have been rushed, leaving and overall shoddy finish and poor workmanship everywhere one looks. The view is amazing, as long as you're not bothered by the outward sloping floor that threatens the cast you off the balcony. The furniture appears to be third- or fourth-hand cast offs. I will never stay at this hotel again, and possibly not even another DoubleTree.
