Stayed at this property for one night pre-cruise (October 18, 2013). Our rate was $139.00 plus tax ($157.07) for the night.
The room was fine. I found it to be a large room for an urban city hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable, such that I did not want to get out of bed in the morning! The bathroom itself was well-appointed (very nice tub) and it had a separate area with a sink, so two people could easily get ready at the same time. I like that. Our room had a balcony with a great view of the bay. The shower water temperature got very hot, which I love, but the air conditioner seemed to have trouble making the room very cold. It worked, but it did not work as well as I would have liked.
Service was fine. I was assisted by two front-desk agents (one was in training). They were both friendly, provided me with freshly baked cookies, and let me know right away that parking was $29.00 per day. Large urban city hotels charge rates like this to park. I do not like it, but you come to expect it nowadays.
Hotel Information -
Interior hallways and a small chaotic lobby. Internet access is $9.95 per day and it worked very well. The hotel is very tall, but the actual hotel rooms only go up to about the 9th floor or so (do not quote me on the exact floor). The rest of the floors are dedicated to residences. The parking entrance was also chaotic - lots of cars, people, etc.
Area near Hotel -
The hotel sits in a safe area of downtown Miami, next to a Marriott Hotel and not far from PortMiami, American Airlines Arena, Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, eateries, and a Publix Supermarket.
Overall, my stay here was fine. I would consider staying here again if the rate was right and my travels bring me back to downtown Miami.
Ask for a room the faces the bay.
