We stayed at the Apartment/condo building. I can't say enough about our gorgeous Apartment. We were with our
Son and his wife and were so comfy. Beautiful Bay views, 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, nice fully stocked kitchen, living room & den. In the same building you will find high end shopping, deli, groceries, restaurants as well as bars. Everything under one roof.

I must be honest, and say that I was very worried after reading the reviews on this property. It was an average stay. Had 1 night pre- and one night post- cruise. Even with Gold Honors status, there was no room upgrade. We got breakfast in the cafe downstairs (to go) and had to wait in line behind uniformed staff members getting their own breakfast both days. The rooms could use a soft renovation (wallpaper, curtains, paint) but the rooms and linens were clean. Despite being in a quiet end of town, there was a ton of delivery truck/street noise outside our window both days. Pool area was spacious and virtually nobody there. Bring your own snacks and beverages and hang out! Quad hot tub is huge. Outside the hotel, you will not find much for restaurants in the immediate area. We went in August, so a 2 mile walk was way too hot. However, we found out (after we were exhausted, hot, and tired...) that there is a free elevated tram. The station is a few blocks away and you can take it down to the Brickell area where there are highly rated restaurants. Front desk staff totally dropped the ball on this suggestion when we asked about how to get around. The best idea they had was taxi and bus. DON'T TAKE THE BUS!!! Front desk also dropped the ball on booking our cruise shuttle. Then they didn't communicate that we needed a voucher or something to give the driver once we got the shuttle re-confirmed and paid for. They would be better off telling you to ask the concierge instead of only half-way handling guest inquiries. So it was not a horrible stay, but it was not a joy either. I would suggest you find a hotel that has a free airport & cruise port shuttle and a location closer to area highlights. It might be more expensive per night, but you will spend the money getting yourself around anyway!

Room Tip: Don't count on the Hilton HHonors upgrade. This is the first time we have not gotten one!

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel on TripAdvisor. We appreciate the feedback and we are always striving to improve. We do hear the comment quite often regarding shuttle service and unfortunately most of the downtown hotels do not offer shuttle service to the Port of Miami or other area attractions. We are in the process of changing some of the items in the sleeping rooms you mentioned. We do hope you come back in the future so that we can show you that we are constantly improving to make each guests stay as enjoyable as possible.

This is a wonderful hotel. My friend and I stayed 3 nights in a bayview room. The room was very very spacious with two queen beds. The balcony had a beautiful view of Biscayne Bay. I love that it was close to the cruise port as well as the shopping area. The staff was very friendly and helpful in helping us obtain cabs and Miami excursions. The building is lovely hosting several stores and resturants. All amenities were up to date and the downstairs breakfast at the cafe was very appealing and tasty. I feel we really got our money's worth with our stay. Next time I'm in Miami---I'm staying at the Doubletree!

The hotel shares facilites with the Grand a condo/apartment type building. They had some minor maintenance problems (elevator to pool was out of commission, air in our room died, etc) but they took care of us and this is a gorgeous place. We loved our room and the view and if you are a jacuzzi lover this place had the best jacuzzis ever... four of them Wow! I think they missed out on several thousand dollars by not having cocktail service at the pool and spa but I can do that tfor them if they want and I am willing to move there arnd run drinks up to the pool area as long as I can have one once in a while. The breakfast coupons were kinda goofy one day we got 8 dollars each the next 7 dollars and the last day 6 dollars we really didnt care as the food was good at the deli and the restaurant so a couple of bucks one way or the other was "Non Importante!" The last day (29 August) we called the front desk three times around 1220 waiting to check out and never got an answer so it was a good thing there was no emergency. I ended up walking down stairs and getting our own bellman as the front desk obiviously had more important things going on. Anyway, thanks for the service on the other days and the beautiful junior suite we loved it and are thinking of coming back soon. You can get a shuttle from the air port and cabs to South Beach if you no not want to get a car. South Beach is alot like like Europe (Italy) except they speak Spanish. Dont be surprised if you visit a fast food restaurant and they dont speak English,. It is all part of the charm and the current future of America.

Hi SlightlyDusty, thank you for staying with us and also for your review. We apologize for the minor problems you mentioned but happy to hear they were resolved promptly by the hotel/condo association staff. We do receive that comment sometime about the pool bar not being staffed. Since its run by the condo association we'll bring it up to the general manager of the assocation to see if they are interested in staffing the pool bar. Thank you again for staying with us and hope to have you back for your next trip to Miami.

We booked a 2 bed bayview condo and it was just what we hoped.
Although we checked in very early and didnt get the condo allocated to us the one we had was very comfortable with everything we needed albeit not luxurious.
We especially appreciated being able to check in early and found the reception staff and concierge to be friendly and helpful.
The condo was very clean with a large balcony and great views over the tennis courts and bay .It was equipped with crockery, cutlery etc and a welcome pack of coffee/creamer /sugar plus a useful packet of detergent with more supplied by housekeeping when requested.
Breakfast could only be taken with a voucher used at the nearby deli or at the adjoining restaurant for a set american breakfast ( bacon or sausage ,eggs any style , potatoes.toast ,tea or coffee with no substitutions allowed) and is definitely not a breakfast buffet despite what our reservation stated. The deli is very good for both hot and cold dishes.
Housekeeping was efficient and prompt .
The car valet system was quick and eficient and costs $15 per day when in a condo but more we think with the hotel.
As others have stated we think one building has straightforward hotel rooms while the other is condos mainly with permanent residents all of whom were friendly toward us.
There is free internet access with 3 computers although no working printer during our stay.
There is a pool with sunbeds but the pool bar was not staffed during our stay.

From our experience we would recommend the Doubletree Grand especially for people needing more than one room since the condo we had provided everything we wanted and everyone was very friendly and helpful towards us.
As well as appreciating being able to check in early we also appreciated reception staff suppling a pass key so we were able to use the hotel pool etc for a couple of hours after we had checked out.

All in all a good stay !!

Room Tip: definitely book a bayview room if you can .

Hi Brinny, thank you for your review and are happy to hear that you had a good stay in one of our two bedroom condos. Yes, the condo tower is separate from the hotel floors but as you mentioned we handle some of the condos and all of the hotel rooms. The condos are very popular to do being much larger than a hotel room as well as having a full kitchen and washer/dryer in each unit. We hope to have you back in the future if you're visiting Miami again.

I was quite suprised by this hotel. Its a great place to stay on biscayne bay in downtown miami and easy to get to everything you might one to do or see. The hotel itself is part of a condominium building and occupies only couple of floors.

Positives: The lobby is beautiful, check in easy, staff very friendly and accomodating, great gym, clean and big rooms & bathroom, plasma TV with great channels, comfortable beds, reasonably good views even with city view rooms, fast wi-fi internet, 24hrs coin operated laundry, convenient shops on the premises (barber, mini-market, bar etc). The Le Faubourg Deli was absolutely great - you can get small items and great fresh food.

No negatives but it wouldnt hurt to offer free wi-fi and update the balconies - they seem neglected in terms of repairs & cleaning.

Tips:(1) From the airporty you can either get a taxi for $25 or take a Super Shuttle for half the price.
(2) There is Omni Metromover station and a bus terminal literally 3 min from the hotel. The metromover is free and can get around downtown miami and other neighbourhoods. You can also get buses to miami beach cheaply.

Room Tip: ASK when checking in
