“Amazing Venue for an Amazing Wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

I stayed at the intercontinental this weekend for a friends wedding. I don't think I have been to many better weddings and much of the credit is due to the hotel and their staff along with the amazing accommodations. From check in to check out, the staff was absolutely amazing. A special thanks to Claudia at the front desk for being the first to take care of us at check in, to Rodrigo who went above and beyond to take care of us even if it was last minute missions to get wedding essentials delivered to certain rooms or take care of last minute requests, and to Michelle Makin who was the overall wedding coordinator. Thank you!! Not only did everyone go above and beyond, but every one had a great attitude and was extremely friendly. I plan to stay at the hotel sometime again soon (wedding or no wedding). The room accommodations, the wedding ball room and surrounding areas, the spa, and everything else was absolutely amazing too.

A typical U.S. Hotel with major exchange of guests daily, no doubt connected with those passengers joining and leaving a cruise vessel. The foyer area is total bedlam and the walls thin, being able to hear the next door guest's telephone ringing. Excellent view to the harbour front for those lucky enough to have secured a harbour view facing room. Service staff are very good and most attentive, so no problem there, but the hotel is not quite up to the usual Intercontinental Hotel standard.

No separate Ambassador area to check-in or check-out.

Room Tip: Definitely opt for the Harbour view.

Green Features: Usual Intercontinental environmentally-friendly practice in place.

Stayed here for work recently and had a pleasant stay. Was able to sit outside at the pool and connect to wifi to work. Lunch in the on site Toro restaurant was reasonably priced and tasty - with gluten free options. There is a separate charge for the gym - nickle and dining at these rates is one of my pet peeves hence the 4 rating.

Dear NYCNikki,

Thank you for the 4 star rating. We are glad to know that you had a pleasant stay with us and that the inconvenience you experienced at the fitness center did not negatively impact your stay. Indeed, Toro Toro is a great restaurant filled with options for all types of eaters. We agree, sitting poolside is the best type of office. We look forward to hosting you on future business trips.

Set by the sea this is a modern, well designed hotel with an undercurrent of fun. The impressive foyer has a huge Henry Moore sculpture in it. The foyer acts a hub to access the hotel many amenities. At night the hotel is lit by a dancing girl, the staff we invariably excellent with a very interesting array of uniforms. The meeting facilities were good..I'm nearly always irritated by elements of hotel room design and this was not the case here. Well designed and fitted out with an awesome view.Sadly didn't get round to visiting the pool and spa. Would recommend.

Green Features: No evidence of recycling taking place. The bottles and other waste in our meeting room all went into the same bin.

Dear James D,

Thank you for the great review and the compliments on the new and stylish look. Indeed, our designers took great care in designing a space that was both modern and comfortable. You cannot beat the incredible views, no matter whether they are city or bay facing. Again, we thank you for all your fantastic comments. We hope that you will be back sooner rather than later. Do not forget to visit our pool and spa on your next stay.

Stayed here for two nights. The first night, the toilet ran all night so I didn't sleep much, but they fixed it promptly in the morning when I stopped by the front desk and it only ran once during the following night.

Bathrooms are big and spacious, although my room needed some grout to be replaced.

The beds are comfortable and the rooms are quiet. Mine overlooked the condo next door and I could see the pool and a slight ocean view from my room.

The service is by far the best part of the hotel - everyone from the valets, to the housekeeping, to the front desk were so helpful and kind. The concierge suggested eating at the little shopping plaza down the way - it's definitely not to be missed. Lots of places to eat and shops all with an ocean view. It's a quick drive to the beach as well.

The hotel's pool is accessible by walking through the spa. It's a small pool without much a view (the bar is blocking that view), but it seemed a nice quiet area with a nice garden for relaxing.

I didn't eat at the hotel's steakhouse, but it was very expensive. Also, the hotel's Starbucks isn't open very late.

Room Tip: Even rooms without the 'ocean view' may have a slight view of the ocean.

had a chance to come to miami for a breast cancer meeting and was booked here at the IC. had never had a chance to stay here. i liked the location first and foremost. i can actually see the Heat Stadium from my hotel room. too bad there was no game. also too bad it was raining.

the hotel is actually very nice. the decor is well done. the rooms are nice. the beds are comfortable. the fitness club is also very nice. all in all, the amenities are well done.

as for the service, it was exceptionally nice. the staff was courteous. they were professional. they were accommodating. there was a problem with my room reservations. they took care of it immediately and to my satisfaction.

also for the meeting, everything was organized very well. there was no drop in service. everything flowed well. the food for the meeting was great. the staff again was very professional and courteous.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone to stay. it is also a good place for conferences.

I do agree with some of the criticisms about this hotel, specifically the cost. it is a bit high. i would look around and select accordingly depending on your budget.

stayed one night at this hotel. Room was a bit tired, and bathroom needed an update. sink didnt work right, and only soap was bar soap. Worst thing about this hotel is the pool. it is placed by the water, but surrounded by buildings, so the sun is there for a few hours each morning only. Looking forward to a sunny time at pool yielded a cold, frustrating experience. Charging $15 for a less than great fitness center was also outrageous. Will look for another alternative next time.
