I stayed in the hotel during a conference - which also took place there. The hotel is located in Downtown Miami, at the water and close to the Bayside Park, amongst other tall buildings (mainly offices and condos). Unfortunately, my room had a view of one of these buildings - you could see the bay only partially. The room was spacious - with a big bed, a small sofa at the window, a desk, a big TV, and a very big bathroom. It was very clean (I have HIGH standards for that). The only thing is that the towels were changed daily - even though I was more than happy to reuse them and I did not leave them on the floor.

The staff was very friendly and helfpul - except for one receptionist who either had a bad day or did not like her job. She wrote the wi-fi access code in an illegible way and was rather rude, when I asked what digit it was. But it was a single case of unfriendliness.

I enjoyed the swimming pool a lot - it was never too busy and it has a great view over the bay. The restaurant at the pool has a very good pizza too!

The only annoying thing I encountered during my stay: I turned off the airco for the night but there was still a weird buzzing noise in my room from time to time. No idea what it was.

Tip: go for a run or a walk alongside the water - when you leave the hotel, turn right and then right again. A very nice running path.

Room Tip: Rooms with numbers 11-14 will have a view on a big apartment building.

I booked a bayview room at the Intercontinental Miami (DownTown) for a trip to see a Miami Heat game. I selected it because I knew I could park at the hotel and walk everywhere i needed to go (Bayside and American Airlines arena). I had stayed there several years ago for a work event and it was so so. I was pleasantly surprised - they have done complete renovations. The rooms are quiet, spacious and luxurious. They thought of everything. In addition, the staff was so friendly and just there to serve you. They have a lovely restaurant on the bay, by the pool that was a family friendly place to sit and people watch and food was good. Make a point of walking outside at night and looking at the hotel from Biscayne Blvd- spectacular light show!

Room Tip: I got a standard room (two double beds) and travelled with my son. It was worth the bayview - view...

Want to thank Hamilton and Marvin for their services in the valet parking area! The room and bar area service were great! Great location, view to the harbor excellent. Near to downtown area in order to visit stores and various restaurants. Like a lot near to the Bay Side and the AA Arena.

Room Tip: Ask for view to the harbor.

This is a typical Intercontinental Hotel--high class, clean, large rooms, good service. It's everything I expected. However, the one drawback was the internet service. Trying to a get a wireless signal was challenging and when I resorted to the hardline, it wasn't much better. For such a great hotel, they need to update their internet service. If you're not concerned with that, this is a fantastic place to stay. it's right on the water and only a short walk from some great nightlife in the Bayside Marketplace.

Fantastic hotel. Modern, clean, first-class, with fabulous outdoor pool. Hilaire Louis-Jean (Uniformed Services Manger) was extremely helpful with luggage at check-in and checkout. It made the transition from the taxi to the room and back to the airport a breeze.

I stayed at the Intercontinental a couple of weeks ago, after having an overnight flight finally I arrived at the hotel at 8 am, I was gonna try to get an early check in which I thought would be difficult, I went to the front desk and Stephanie welcomed me, she was very nice and professional and granted me the early check in, this was a good way to start my stay in Miami. The room was spacious, I had a nice view. One recommendation I have is don't touch the minibar.
At night I went to Toro Toro, it is a bit expensive but it's worth it.
The service in general is excellent, definetely I recommend this hotel and I will be back soon.
