“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

stayed at this hotel during the World Baseball classic (it was a host hotel) and had an great experience. The rooms we're average for an Intercontinental hotel (I say at alot of them) but the food service and location was the best if you're looking for a alternative to South Beach chaos. One of the best things to check out while at this hotel is the Electric bike rental (Wheels to go!) Great day exploring Key Biscayne park & reserve via the nearby causeway. Best part of the bikes is that since they're not rated as motorcycles/mopeds, you can ride these on the sidewalk or bike lane (or anywhere a bicycle can go) and get great access to alot of places you can't get to go on a moped. Unbelievable experience!

Dear Chefblack_13,

Thank you for the great review. We are so glad that you thoroughly enjoyed your experience in Miami and that you enjoyed from a myriad of sites around our vibrant city. We are located in prime location in the heart of downtown Miami and in close proximity to many of the area's top attractions. The electric bicycles available for rent at our hotel are indeed so much fun. We are so glad that you enjoyed. We look forward to providing you with another sunny Miami experience.

This looks an impressive hotel and and is well located. The service is first class and cleanliness goes without saying for a hotel of this quality. The staff were were so helpful and the guys on the front of the hotel work tirelessly.
The disappointing thing is that in this day and age they still charge you for Wi-fi access. We stayed at a hotel just out of town and Breakfast and Wi-Fi were included.
It's like they want to squeeze every last Dollar out of you. The rates were extortionate. A pity that a top class hotel has to still charge for this service.

My fiance and I stayed here in February pre-cruise as many people do the day before their cruise leave. I was excited to say at the IC due to the reputation they have for both service and quality.

Overall, our stay was enjoyable. Our room was clean and provided a sense of luxury throughout the bedroom and especially the bathroom . I loved the oversized bathroom and the feeling of being more 'spa' like vs. 'hotel' like. Bed was comfortable and the electronic shades was a great feature and touch to darken the room!

Pool area was great and beautiful, however, due to the large buildings surrounding - prevented sun time. I had wanted to sit by the pool and take in some sun but you can tell your sun time is really limited.

Staff at check in was sub-par - especially after we stated we had never been here before. I am a true believer that your first point of contact at the hotel can really bring a good or bad first impression. Throughout the day/stay, many individuals of management were walking around the hotel. When I say many - there were 5/10 at a time just walking around. I was disappointed that not only did they seem less than friendly - it really created an environment like something was going on/wrong. On the positive side, bell man and parking attendants out front exceeded expectations with not only friendliness but quick assistance.

Close location to Bayside, South Beach and the cruise port make this hotel an attractive hotel to stay with its close proximity to key locations.

Lastly, internet for ~$20 per day seems excessive. I would have expected a more competitive pricing or even free wireless especially where we are at currently with many hotels providing that ammenity.

I obtained this room via priceline and would recommend this hotel to others if the price is right. I believe there are probably other hotels that may be able to provide similiar ammenities with a friendlier environment.

Room Tip: Ask for a view! While the city view isn't bad - port/water view is much better!

Loved the Hotel. Was there at a discount for a conference. Otherwise pretty pricey. Location is great. Can walk to the bayside marketplace with food, shopping, nightlife etc. Rooms were clean and comfortable although and cool enough as even in April is was 85 degrees. Breakfast buffet in lobby restaurant $24.95 per person which was no way worth that. There is a Starbucks however if you want a cheaper option.

Room Tip: I had a room on the back side of the hotel that overlooked the bay and the cruise ship terminal. It...

The hotel is a proper business hotel providing easy access to the downtown Miami area. The hotel is away from the beach and the party scene in Miami which also means that the surroundings are calm and quiet at night. It overlooks the bay and offers good views of the docks. The promenade right beside the hotel offers a peaceful place to sit by the water reading a book or just taking a stroll.

Rooms are clean and spacious. They offer most amenities that you would require. Sleep quality is good with a comfortable bed and quiet surroundings. Food is decent but if you end up staying longer it starts tasting just the same. Service could have been better with the staff at the concierge being slow and not willing to go out of the way to help out. The hotel has a good bar in the lobby and is a good place to hang out after work. The hotel is walking distance from the AA arena so if you are planning to catch a game, it could be a good option. The concierge could help you out with the tickets.

Would want to try out something closer to the beach next time.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the bay are good

We arrived at the hotel pretty early and our room was ready! the room was spacious, comfortable and with a great view! it was my friend's birthday and we received a birthday cake and champagne! Very nice touch.. very delicious food at the restaurant toro toro and at the room service! The order taker was really friendly and the fried rice is my favorite! the sangria at the bar pool is the best I had in a very long time! The hotel is gorgeous modern and very clean! The concierge as well as the front desk were helpful and efficient. The club lounge servers are really nice and offer nice breakfast. Very nice location! Perfect for business as well as family or friends trip! Will definitely be back! THANKS

we checked in late but got upgraded to the suite. very nice 2 br suite. everything nicely laid out. nice bar downstairs with very friendly bartenders. all the staff was really very nice. especially this guy at the front desk named batman (or something like that). he was super nice, courteus, and even came over to say hi on his break when we were chilling in the lounge/lobby.
parking is pricey and almost impossible to find on your own in that area.
rooms were nice, pool ain't that big,
i would def stay there next time in town

Room Tip: just ask for a nicer room. if they can help you and make your trip nicer, they prob will.
