“Okay hotel - decent for conferences”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

I recently stayed here for two nights as part of a conference. The hotel's support for conferences is good - rooms were good sizes, AV was adequate, and the catering was good (better than expected). The room was okay. Despite being on an upper floor, there seemed to be a lot of traffic noise until about 11 pm. The mattress had seen better days, but the sleep quality was okay. There is free WiFi in the lobby - good to use because they charge an unreasonable $25/day for in-room WiFi.

Stayed at this hotel 4 nights. Centrally located in the downtown. Lots of people said this hotel was out of date, I saw nothing wrong with this hotel at all. Everyone at the hotel was very accommodating, very nice and helpful. Nice walking distance to Bayfront Park which has lots of shopping, music, and restaurants. The rooms were very clean. A very short ride to the cruise ships. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

We stopped at this hotel in Miami for 3 nights before heading out to the Caribbean. We had it on a room basis only (as knew we would be heading out to South beach and other local areas for food) so it was perfect for our stay. Clean, spacious, modern and extremely helpful staff. We had to call external companies a couple of times to arrange our excursions etc and the staff were more than happy to do this for us using their phones. We didn't pay for the wifi but were pleased to find we could access the wifi free of charge on our phones anyway (we were on floor 7). Iron and hairdryer are both provided.

It cost around $20 for a cab to south beach area. Cabs are always available outside. If you are heading to Miami for a party/shopping trip then I would recommend staying in South beach area instead to save you the constant cab fares.

Overall a very pleasant stay made better by the helpful staff and modern amenities. The only reason I haven't given it a 5 is because I didn't actually check out the whole hotel (never ate, didn't use gym facilities etc) therefore unable to fully comment.

I stayed here for two nights for a work conference. It is centrally located in downtown and a close walk to nearby businesses. Check -in was quick and convenient. The lobby was packed at all hours of the night from various conventions and group outings. However, as a prior reviewer stated the rooms are very dated and musty smelling. Sheets on one of the double beds in my room was stained so I stayed clear of it. Also, there is a large wall between the bathroom and bedroom areas which prevents one from watching television in the morning. The elevators were also very slow to work and overcrowded. If you have the option to stay elsewhere, you should. Note that in downtown there are not many dining options on weekends nearby as most places are closed. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was terrible and overpriced. We paid $30 for two omlettes and coffee. Plates were dirty and food was only half cooked.

Room Tip: I would ask for a higher floor to take advantage of the view.

The exterior is really dated looking, but service and interior is great - Alex T working bellman is great, as was Jordan at the front desk and I appreciated the manager emailing me after check in to make sure all was good. Only downside was the tv had lines in it (912), but I was so busy in and out that I didn't have time to call and request service, or was always too tired. Gym is a little small, and left a lot to be desired, and pool is in the shade most of the day. But overall, great stay.

Room Tip: Floors not facing the bridge would probably have less noise from traffic, but it wasn't unbearab...

I traveled here for a conference and was sadly disappointed. This property is well located, but terribly dated and the rooms smell musty and old. The staff was nice and friendly, but I was glad I was only there for 2 nights. Rates were double what I would have expected for the quality of the accomodations.

Stayed here for 3 nights in November 2013. Loved the location and the environment outside the hotel was very fun and relaxing. They actually have couches in front of the hotel. People sit out while smoking , drinking or just people watching. Would definitely stay here again!
